The Coming Paradigm Shift on Climate: Evidence suggests that Nature rules the climate – not Man.
American Thinker ^ | 03/27/2014 | S. Fred Singer

The just-published NIPCC reports may lead to a paradigm shift about what or who causes current climate changes. All the evidence suggests that Nature rules the climate – not Man.

Watch for it: We may be on the threshold of a tipping point in climate history. No, I’m not talking about a tipping point in the sense that the Earth will be covered with ice or become hellishly hot. I’m talking about a tipping point in our views of what controls the climate -- whether it’s mainly humans or whether it’s mainly natural. It makes an enormous difference in climate policy: Do we try to mitigate, at huge cost, or do we merely adapt to natural changes -- as our ancestors did for many millennia?

Such tipping points occur quite frequently in science. I have personally witnessed two paradigm shifts where world scientific opinion changed rapidly -- almost overnight. One was in Cosmology, where the “Steady State” theory of the Universe was replaced by the “Big Bang.” This shift was confirmed by the discovery of the “microwave background radiation,” which has already garnered Nobel prizes, and will likely get more.

The other major shift occurred in Continental Drift. After being denounced by the Science Establishment, the hypothesis of Alfred Wegener, initially based on approximate relations between South America and Africa, was dramatically confirmed by the discovery of “sea-floor spreading.”

These shifts were possible because there were no commercial or financial interests -- and they did not involve the public and politicians. But climate is a different animal: The financial stakes are huge -- in the trillions of dollars, and affect energy policy, and indeed the economic wellbeing of every inhabitant of the developed and developing world.

There are a few people who will owe me abject apologies if this ever comes to pass. I’m not holding my breath waiting for the paradigm shift, let alone the apologies.

I was watching the History Channel (or one of its clones) yesterday, and it was about the “Little Ice Age” that occurred in the Medieval period.

The entire program had an alarmist tone and kept questioning: “COULD THIS HAPPEN AGAIN??????”

I think it is the beginning of the media’s attempt to weasel itself out of the “Globull Warming” HOAX.

Singer is an absolute Wiz when it comes to Climate Change. But I’m afraid he remains a bit naive in the realm of politics. The Al Gore Ministry is not going to fold easily. I personally give it at least another 20 years of life. Sad to say.

Memo 5467-ag73

The newspeak version 73 term shall henceforth be, “catastrophic climate disruption.” This memo supercedes the terms global warming and climate change.

Thank you for your attention.

Time to dust off the ozone hole.

Man’s contribution to overall CO2 in the atmosphere is 3-4%.
Planting 12% more biomass would TOTALLY consume this miniscule amount of CO2.

But, the leftists want carbon taxes and some worldwide governing body to issue carbon credits, etc.

The just-published NIPCC reports...

First time I’ve seen that acronym with an “N” at the front.

I’ve ALWAYS been a FIRM BELIEVER in Global Warming, Global Cooling and Climate Change. You’ll never convince me of anything different!

HOWEVER, I can see that “Anthropogenic Global Warming” is political advocacy and not real science!

I've been asking global-warming alarmists for years: Would you prefer global cooling? What would THAT entail for our civilization?

Heresy!!
Blasphemy!!

WE MUST continue to cram Global Warming down the populaces’ throats! We have tons of sqiggly light bulbs to sell. The ‘green’ industry is a billion billion dollar industry. We must keep the fear alive to feed this industry. How will we sell our biodegradable underwear and our carbon credits and get funding for our solar powered can openers?

You are right. Too much money in the ‘green’ industry to make it go away anytime soon.

I’ve been wanting to set up a pyrolysis unit at my house. About 60-80% of the mass is converted into an oil that I could use to heat the house, most of the rest is left as charcoal that if turned back into the soil greatly increases the fertility of the soil.

A few acres would free me from propane and should make the garden more productive.

It would sequester carbon in the soil permanently, but that is not my purpose.

Theoretically, you could run a diesel engine off the stuff but it contains alot of acids and congeals if not stabilized.
