President Obama is committing more military resources, including aircraft and special operations forces, to the hunt for notorious African warlord Joseph Kony.

Early Monday, the White House confirmed a Washington Post report that the U.S. was sending "associated support personnel," and a "limited number" of CV-22 Osprey aircraft to assist local forces in their long-running battle against Kony's Lord's Resistance Army, or LRA. Obama sent about 100 U.S. troops to help the African forces in 2011.

Now we know why we haven't done anything to stop Adolph Putin from gobbling up his neighbors. We just didn't realize how dangerous this Ugandan thug is and how he could get the attention of the President of the United States. //sarc//

BTW, how does this kind of deployment square with the War Powers Act/?
Not that Hussein cares about the rule of law....

I wonder if there is a connection with our sending fag counselors to Uganda and this. Obama, a one minded clown.

In 2011 Congress overwhelmingly approved the use of force in the hunt for Kony. We’ve had 100 special forces “advisers” operating in Central African Republic (CAR), Uganda, South Sudan and Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) ever since.

The LRA are operating in one of the least hospitable and least accessible areas in the world, moving back and forth between four countries, two of which are in the throes of civil war. They are being supported by the government of Sudan who uses them to stir up trouble for the neighbors.

We shouldn’t be anywhere near that situation.

The guy’s probably already dead. Has anyone even heard from him in the last 5 years?

Kony has needed killing for a long, long time. This is the first thing Obama has done that I approve of. Take out Kony and the top three echelons of his command structure.

I’m just sorry that Yoweri Museveni did not ask Bush for assistance in nailing Kony.

On paper, Kony is being accused of the very same things Muslims have been doing in other countries lately. Heck they even take it one step farther and burn down churches and behead people. Why no troops deployed there, Mr. President?

There is no place in the world I would want to send Americans to fight less than in sub Saharan Africa. If you think the Arab world was bad, you ain’t seen nuthin yet.

American troops will be forced to kill children or will be ordered to hold their fire while those same AK 47 wielding children kill them. If they’re captured, that’s when the real fun begins with forced cannibalism of their fellow troops or even their own hacked off body parts.

In the end, the world will scream about American brutality in Africa.

I think he’s choosing the only fight he thinks he can win. Sure take on armies tht consist of guerilla units with outdated weaponry. Its like a 200 lb bully taking on a 130 lb wimp in the schoolyard.

Putin is kicking his ass all over, so he has turn around and pick on someone smaller, I guess Boehner wasn’t available.

Kony should just announce he’s a Muslim and Obama will call the troops back.
