This was a well-planned out heist that took planning, timing and more than just a pilot or two.
Who was the FReeper that called this one? I owe him an apology for calling his hijacked diverted plane scenario whacky. Whoever it was called it before the suggestion went out in the media.
Now if there's a phone call where the pilot says "release Anwar or else" then maybe I'll bite.

Generally folks committing acts of terror are making a statement. This makes little sense if it remains a mystery.
This sounds too much like Clinton’s attempt to link the GOP to the Oklahoma City bombing. The government is trying to divert attention from what the media has framed (unfairly) as its incompetent handling of the incident. I guess Malaysian pols figure - if you’re getting smeared, why not share the wealth with the opposition?
My new theory (tinfoilish) is that this whole thing was set up by the Powers That Be in order to deflect focus away from the most pressing issue now: Russia-Ukraine.
Plus there has been a lot of of general negative press re Obama lately: Obamacare, Benghazi, IRS, Poll numbers, then Putin. Just wouldn’t do to have all those headlines. And now we have to look hard for news on Ukraine, which only has the potential to start WWIII.
The pilot was one of the very few people who had opportunity, now is this motive?

Facts:
777 takes almost an hour to glide from 35000 ft WITH BOTH ENGINES OUT
Boeing datalink monitors all 777's when they're in flight. AA pilots have received calls in flight from system monitoring advising a divert because an engine was starting to fail and they picked up the trends before it occurred.
Satellite communication is standard on a 777. I can pick up the mic and punch ONE button and talk to my operation center, 24-7, from anywhere on Earth

About the only way to get an airplane like that out of the sky without a clue is with a bomb. All the other hand wringing is wishful thinking. No one wants to own up to reality... it was Muslim terrorist(s). Indonesia is 80-90% Muslim. Gee, let me wish it was a Boeing airplane breaking up in cruise for no reason. Or please let it be a bad pilot. Or a suicide pilot... pleeeeze. ANYTHING but what we all know it is.

The pilot had a plan for revenge. He initiated the plan, then got cold feet, set the plane on auto-pilot and killed himself (hypoxia). The plane ran out of fuel over the Indian Ocean and crashed.
I seriously doubt it.
