For the past week I've had a problem connecting to the internet. - Keep getting bumped off. Internet won't stay connected at the source, and four different repairmen can't explain why. Happened again today; it's a wonder I'm connected right now.

Someone frmailed the following so apparently other freepers were/ are having IP problems:

About your internet, I’ve had the same problem for nearly a year. The repairmen have narrowed to problem down to bad amplifiers. They’ve replaced several along the line. Of course, they may be feeding me a line about amplifiers but the last couple weeks have been good, knock on wood. Also, have the company “ping” your system to reset it. You may have to call their 1-800 tech number three states away if your local office can’t be bothered.

Know of the problem of what you are speaking but only in terms of witnessing similar yet whomever/whatever is going on has been unsuccessful in my area thus far. Am not certain is an ongoing attack but do have suspicions that it could be an ongoing attack. Have been seeing little bits and pieces around the internet regarding setup adds or adds infected with malware. Have been avoiding those adds as have encountered them as much as possible and have reported some of the adds to site posting the add or to help the site am reporting the add and advising site am reporting add to; to check and remove some of the infectious adds as am finding. Am not an expert on the workings of the interwebs, Lucy, but yes something is going on and I'm at a loss to explain exactly what it is that is going on. If you find some information would appreciate a 'ping'. Thanks Lucy.
