Is Hillary Clinton Too Old to Run?
National Journal ^ | 2/14/14 | Charlie Cook

Posted on 02/14/2014 9:48:24 AM PST by illiac

At least every week now, there is a new story supporting the narrative of an inevitable 2016 Hillary Clinton presidential bid. Indeed, the conventional wisdom is that it is an absolute certainty that she will run. If anyone is currently saying, flat out, that Hillary isn't running, I haven't come across them. Is the inevitability of her run really as certain as the conventional wisdom suggests, and further, is it unfolding in an optimal manner for the potential candidate?

In all likelihood, Clinton will not make a final, "go-or-no-go" decision until early next year, after the dust has settled from the midterm election. Generally speaking, few presidential contenders make their final decisions before the preceding midterm, and, with the notable exception of Texas Gov. Rick Perry in 2011, most have been laying the groundwork for a long time for a potential run. Most have already been attending countless state and county Jefferson-Jackson (for Democrats) or Lincoln (for Republicans) dinners, meet and greets, and other events to prepare for the potential campaign and the ensuring shakedown (if they do, in fact, decide to run).

Herself, Madame Benghazi, the Cold & Joyless, is no Margaret Thatcher. Heck, Herself is not even Barbara Bush.

She’s going to wind up dying of a stroke. We know she has problems.

Is Hillary Clinton Too Old to Run?

Heck, no! All one must be is over 35 and alive.

Should Mrs. Clinton run for office she shouldn't be elected. Too much baggage and no positive accomplishments.

Of course, this is the country which elected and reelected not only her husband but also that illegal alien, Marxist, Muslim currently occupying the White House.

In a world of accountability and merit (no this isn’t a movie trailer) she’d have been excluded by public decree.

If she was a republican we would be told that she’s too old and too white. The party of old, white people is now the democrats.

Do not underestimate the Beast. She is a lot of things but she is not stupid. She has more experience at campaigning, stronger name recognition and the ability to raise more money than any other potential candidate on either side.

If she runs she will be a formidable opponent.

No Reagan was too old but Hillaryous is a spring chicken. Besides, “...what difference does it make”?

If Cruz and Paul stay true to themselves, they'll be fine

The hillaristas are getting old, along with hillary. They aren't going to appeal to younger voters. TedCruz and RandPaul are appealing to a younger generation, who mostly blame hillary and her peers for the mess the US is in now. And Bill Clinton? He hasn't been president since 2000. Younger voters were in elementary school then.

Even if one could find a video clip of HRC saying in 1979 or 1980 that Ronald W. Reagan was “too old” to be President, it would make no difference whatever. The large number of “American” socialists are fully committed to her candidacy for anything she runs for in the next election.

You may not realize how much you just complimented one Robert J. Dole, formerly of KS.

If she's not running, she had some major work done for nothing. Did you see her at de Blasio’s inauguration? She has had some serious work done recently.

Brain damage from that head injury last year should preclude any presidential aspirations.
