Heavy snow and travel disruptions will spread from the Midwest and into the Northeast as the day progresses on Saturday.
The snowstorm will span more than 1,000 miles. Snow will fall on and impact every major city and rural area from St. Louis to Boston, including Chicago, Detroit, Indianapolis, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and New York City. The area encompasses about 110 million people.

I’m pretty sure that snow in December is one of the signs of the apocalypse.
It snows in New Jersey?
Yup. As a matter of fact, it’s snowing right now. The deer are munching the bushes, the bear are asleep, and all’s right with the world.
Dunno where that was taken, but it kinda makes me homesick for Northern Ohio.
Not homesick enough to go back there ..... but nostalgic.
Yah,it does....but it's a dark gray as it hits the ground and turns black soon thereafter.
Southern Michigan near Brooklyn.
How can you even think about that when 100 million people are about to be devastated by a quarter of an inch of snow?
Snow-in December-in the North-is an event? Here I sit, with my AC running on Dec 14th. When it snows in the swamp, it’s an event! I’ll take any snow anyone else doesn’t want! We were 82 one day, then 50’s, back to 70’s and tonite supposed to be 40’s...for a day or two. I dream of real seasons that stay!
How about the junkies and the hookers? Will they be OK?
Sorry...couldn't help myself.Archie Bunker's responsible for my dark attitude toward New Jersey. In one episode, while listening to Meathead complain about possibly being forced to live in NJ,he said (in that way of his) "well,*somebody's* gotta live in New Joisey".
I was just joking. I live in New York City.
It sounds like a beautiful scene where you are. No deer around here.
Wow. I guess so!
I guess the orders of the day will be bread, milk, and TP. Well, maybe something 80 proof too.
GO ARMY! BEAT Navy. Calamari is the dish of the day.

...the bear are asleep...
Not all bears,I heard a story about a bear named Yogi. He didn’t sleep though the winter because he had heard about Christmas. His friend boo boo wanted him to go back to sleep.
Really! And the other 200+ million AREN’T! Guess we’re not ‘real people’.
What non-residents believe about New Jersey keeps a lot of the riffraff away from where we live.
Most peoples’ impression of New Jersey is formed from what they see from the NJ Turnpike.
Good.
Keep thinking that.
That being said, what will force me to leave is the outrageously high property taxes. You would’t believe...
So snow ski? How appropriate for a weatherman/person.

I know you’re going to get this storm, DJ, but what about you, RedMDer? We’re going to a party tonight, so driving home will be interesting. Fortunately, it’s not very far away.
In my youth 60 yrs ago I recall actually hunting with rifles, fishing in unstocked streams and my family having lived on a truck farm (not related to a semi either).
Today, those areas are over run with homes, streams have to be stocked and my mom’s farm now a condo community.
The only similarity is it snowed before and it snows now, some years more, some years less. In my youth we prayed for snow because we made a ton of money, it seemed, shoveling snow. Today, if they need snow removed, they hire some immigrant to do it if they can find one I guess.
