What ... no bourbon?! Dang!
Understood for certain occupations. But on that type of TV show, I didn’t think it was necessary to take such a large segment of the episode.
The only “pampering” to which I’ve acquiesced is a mani/pedi. I am prone to ingrown nails and have infections in my toes and fingers to the point that one doctor even suggested removal of the nail altogether. Since I’ve been getting my nails done every other week, I no longer having those issues.
I think the waxing and the shaving of body parts below the neck and the tanning are ridiculous personally, but sometimes a little “primping” is helpful to maintain the health of the body. Another good example: massage. I used to never partake, but I definitely lift more and run faster after an hour massage than I do just letting the body “rest.”
I have noticed this too. I believe it is a natural progression from the fact that polite conversation amongst these individuals is a lost concept. Every one of them MUST say what is on their mind immediately. No waiting for a pause in the conversation because there is none. It is as if they simply cannot hold a thought in their head for more than a few seconds and form a complete sentence before speaking. No 'buffer' so to speak. If you pause while speaking...for even two seconds...you get interrupted.
Sooooo...they fill the vacuum with whatever vocal noise they can.
Simple, polite, CONversation is becoming a lost art. It has evolved...or devolved...into a room fool of ravens creating cacophony.
The guy who tells them to “wind it up fast” or “drag it out more” for the purpose of TIME, probably motioned the “drag it out” hand sign. You KNOW that it was probably THAT simple. People are, in the end, pretty simple.

Yep. That commercial makes me boil. Don’t even get me started on the way pale athletes are treated. There is a really interesting site called castefootball.com. It is very eye-opening how far sports have pushed pale athletes out of certain positions in sports. Apparently this is happening at the college recruiting level. These recruiting firms totally ignore pale kids for certain positions like running back and defensive back, and mostly wide receiver. Pale kids coming out of high school with amazing rushing stats are being totally ignored while tanner athletes are given full rides with much lesser stats. There are words the broadcasters use for pale athletes, like “deceptively quick”, or “smart route runner”, even if the athlete is ACTUALLY really fast.

Also, I DID say that Luciano Pavarotti, the world's finest 20th century tenor, DID have a high pitched voice, a natural tenor voice, when he spoke. What is really wrong with that, if it's what nature gave one?

Today’s youth mostly live in a very small and insular world of their own making. Its as though they’ve tuned out reality.

We live in the hoosier state but at a restaurant the other day a couple of college girls sat across from us and I swear every other word was “you know” or “oh my god”. I mean they laced their conservation with this constantly. It is like a speech impediment.
I felt I was at a showing of Valley Girls.
That is a close shark jump there. However, usually it is confirmed once a celebrity guest appears.
It’s an almost universal affection amongst Canadians.
That is, was and always will be reverse discrimination.
It has a name because it's not a new phenomenon. It has happened in EVERY arena, all against the straight, white male.

Back a few years ago the website commercialsihate.com tackled this issue with a chart that documented the world according to TV. Some universal rules they came up with are:
Minority Children > White Children > Minority Women > White Women > Minority Men > White Men
1. Children of any race are ALWAYS more intelligent and useful than their parents or any other authority figure. If both minority and white kids are included they minority kids will be portrayed as more intelligent and useful than the white kids.
2. Women of any race are ALWAYS more intelligent and useful than men of any race. Again, if the commercial includes both a minority and white women, the minority women will be portrayed as the more intelligent and useful than the white.
3. Men (both minority and white) are universally portrayed as being dumb and useless as dirt IF the commercial also includes women and/or children. However, if it is just men, the minority man will be portrayed as far more intelligent and useful than the white.
EXCEPTION: Gay Men. The automatically get bumped up in intelligence and usefulness to same level as a women of the respective race.
