Yep. That commercial makes me boil. Don’t even get me started on the way pale athletes are treated. There is a really interesting site called castefootball.com. It is very eye-opening how far sports have pushed pale athletes out of certain positions in sports. Apparently this is happening at the college recruiting level. These recruiting firms totally ignore pale kids for certain positions like running back and defensive back, and mostly wide receiver. Pale kids coming out of high school with amazing rushing stats are being totally ignored while tanner athletes are given full rides with much lesser stats. There are words the broadcasters use for pale athletes, like “deceptively quick”, or “smart route runner”, even if the athlete is ACTUALLY really fast.

It has a name because it's not a new phenomenon. It has happened in EVERY arena, all against the straight, white male.
