This is the real world; so long as the "preppers" no matter how thorough and prepared they are, are vastly outnumbered by these animals, they are living in permanent lethal denial.

There is no way they can survive.

It’s entirely possible that the whole thing was scripted, and he was just saying what he was told to say. “Reality TV”, isn’t.

If so, then he’s an idiot for thinking people wouldn’t assume it was real.

Not defending this loon, but he’s got a point. No matter how well armed you are, if a large, angry, desperate mob wants what you have, they’re going to get it, sooner or later. I’m sure everyone’s imagination is as good as mine.

Dead bodies strewn about may be some sort of deterrent. A big mob, under the circumstances, is not likely to remain a cohesive force as it will also fight amongst itself to "divvy-up" the booty.

Some of the episodes in Season 1 were good. The SurvivalMom episode was interesting, though she stated on her blog they edited it somewhat.
Season 2 and later seem less to tap into 2012 curiosity in survivalism and more to make fun of preppers.

Pure tv fiction or not, I'd bet money that they are on several locals' list already. I'd imagine the next cup of coffee they order will be spit in and the next time their vehicles are taken in for repairs will have major failures shortly afterward. They wouldn't be welcome into my hardware store or gun shop, that's for sure. I like to see his rap sheet. Here's to the cops giving him tickets for the slightest infraction on a daily basis.
