Not gonna torment my soul. My family was in Germany until well after the Civil War.

One of my ancestors was killed at Charleston SC after seizing the Battle Flag of the 54th North Carolina. Earned the MOH. No torment here either. Next time put up a better fight against Muslim Slave traders and Zulus.

Even though my ancestors owned slaves, I personally did not. So it won’t “torture” my soul either.
And any economic benefit from slavery, well over 160 years ago, was wiped out when my great-grandfather a—college-educated professional— lost nearly everything during the Great Depression.

None of my forebears came to North America until the 1880s either.

Likewise, my Welsh ancestors didn’t arrive until 1880 or so. Even so, I wouldn’t shed a tear either way.

My family owned slaves, and it doesn’t torment me at all. Hollywood, certain blacks, liberals, the MSM, and B.H. Obama wish it would, but they’re out of luck.

My family (Irish) were as good as slaves on the railroad so don’t look our way.
