I have seen the Indian equivalent of a resume (called “CV”) that includes such politically incorrect data as date of birth, marital status, and...yes, descriptions of the applicant’s skin color.
Pakistanis aren't arab but they may be muslim.
There are Indonesia muslims, Thai muslims, and elsewhere. This foolish notion that muslims OWN the "holy land" and have some special claim on it (because of the conquests of Mohammed and his blood cult) is political correctness run amok. The notion that just because muslim supremacists dictate that if a land is ever under Sharia 'it is ALWAYS muslim "territory"' needs to be STAMPED OUT.
That said, the contestant shouldn't be ridiculed and harassed.

I was surprised to read this about the Indian culture, just as I was surprised to find out the same holds true for American black culture.

Personally, I don't think she's that attractive (I know, meow). The other thing is her talent. It's just like with AI or AGT. When people vote, they almost always choose someone with a talent that's part of our culture. I don't watch Miss America, I got fed up with it many years ago. But they've just given me another reason to be fed up. The winner, in fact all the contestants, should culturally represent the US....not Bollywood. JMHO

I think some people are just stupid. A person lives in this country, and they want to try to win “miss America”, they have every right to do so, and it makes no difference what their cultural heritage is.
It’s cause she ain’t from Texas! Everyone knows Miss Americas are supposed to be from Texas and preferably a Baylor or SMU student. If she was properly Texan nobody would dare start this racist cr4p, even if she was jet black and had no vowels in her name.
But I have to admit she is dang near purty enuf to be a Texas gal. Maybe her mom just got lost on the way to the hospital.
