In a new video offering the first glimpse at the zombie drama's new season, producers reveal that the first episode back will be penned by Gimple. The writer-producer's writing credits on the series include two of its most well-received episodes to date -- the "Clear" hour that featured Morgan's return as well as the season-two installment "Pretty Much Dead Already" where poor zombie Sophia comes out of the barn.Gimple marks Walking Dead's third showrunner. He replaces Glen Mazzara, who followed Frank Darabont at the helm of the record-breaking series.

Additionally, Emmy-winning VFX guru Greg Nicotero will again step behind the camera to direct the season-four premiere, which he describes as "bigger than any script I've ever done before."

"[There's] new people coming in, some great character turns, great twists that will delight the fans," Nicotero adds.

Check out the first-look video to get a feel for what the series, based on Robert Kirkman's graphic novels, has in store. The Walking Dead returns in October.... (2:34 min.Video of the film production)

Never heard of this series until I saw it mentioned here - probably by you, Virgil.

I just finished watching the last episode of season 3. Definitely the best series I’ve ever come across. Thanks.

A lot of fans complained about the season finale, but I liked it a lot. It gave us some tense moments (Andrea & Milton), a lot of character moments (Carl’s reaction to a surrendering teen), Daryl and Merle, etc.

I felt completely satisfied with this season.

I’m really hooked. I can’t wait for more.

A lot of “fans” feel complaining is the only way to prove they exist. I just look at the ratings, that tells the story, people like the show.

Same here. I’ll admit I was really looking forward to the Governor’s death, but he’s such a GOOD villain that I’m glad he’s still going to be around.

....." Definitely the best series I’ve ever come across.".....

I watch Walking Dead, But I think Falling Skies is better. Plus, so far, and I want to emphasize so far, they are patriotic, Christian to a point, and not filthy. I also like the fact the main character is an American History teacher and talks about the Founders and the Revolution. The FX is pretty darn good. Give it a try. June 9 starts the 3rd season, but you can find season 1&2 on DVD and on demand download. It's n TNT.

Also, for a new twist in zombie movies, try “Warm Bodies”. I thought it was neat to see a movie from the zombies view. Made me laugh.

And if you are not already watching Game of Thrones I strongly urge you to.

First class scripts and actors.

Beware, in most TV you know who the good guys are and you have to look for the villains. In GOT you know who the bad guys are and have to figure out who the good guys are.

Stunning locations too. No expense spared.

Cheers,

We like Falling Skies, too-—the season opener is at nine tonight, EST-—but it doesn’t compare to WD, for us. WD is in another league entirely.

You make some good points about FS, but——the characters in WD are Southern. That goes a long way for me. ;)

Game of Thrones does not live up the books, IMO.

First of all, in the books the protagonists are mostly in their mid-teens. Parts of the storyline do not flow smoothly to characters in their mid-20’s, like the reactions to arranged marriages.

I forget their names, but the two sisters - the pretty one is less tragic as a woman than a 13/14 year old girl.

The dwarf, though, does an outstanding job and it is easy to go back and read the books, and have an image of him as that character.

The incident with Carl shooting that guy - that is what this show is all about.

How people are complex, multi-faceted, sometimes unpredictable and products of their environment, experiences and stresses. Plus factor in the fact that the guy does not actually *drop* the weapon as he was instructed to - I could picture a present day cop shooting as well. I thought it was masterful.

The battle though against the governor’s ‘army’, though -, I have to go and watch it again. It seemed like an overly simplistic victory to me.
