authored laws that prevented tens of thousands of deaths from drunk driving and from second hand smoke and who saved countless lives by authoring legislation that banned those convicted of domestic violence from buying guns.

The Nanny State's nanny-in-chief.

Lautenberg was an absolute nothing burger for decades, and an unfriendly one at that.

Probably epitomized the liberal “leader”.

It was seriously hard to be in the senate that long and be so hated and do so little.

Well, I would say he is now a greater public servant than he was a short time ago.

I wouldn’t follow her anyplace!

Lautenberg was a leftist. I will not waste space honoring his memory,.

If Democrats call it heaven he goes to, then Teddy Kennedy will greet him in that heaven right before they begin shoveling the coal.

Thanks be to the DemocRATs....they’ve made haters out of many of us!

He’s better at being worm food than being a “public service.”

After all, this was the man who had authored laws that prevented tens of thousands of deaths from drunk driving and from second hand smoke and who saved countless lives by authoring legislation that banned those convicted of domestic violence from buying guns.

Would sure like to see something vaguely resembling evidence that any of these laws saved "thousands of lives."

What one generally finds when tracking deaths over the years from such causes is that there has been a steady decline for decades. When the law intended to address the issue is passed, there is often little or no difference visible in the rate of decline.

For instance, if you look at the graph of US workplace deaths and injuries for the 20th century, you cannot tell when the OSHA act was passed.

>> the greatest public servant I know

I wouldn’t go that far, but I do regard him more highly now that he can no longer particpate in wrecking my country.

(I *almost* said “now that he won’t be voting”... then I realized the error in my presumption.)

Blegh.

A liberal is a tick....sucking upon the products of producers.

Lautenberg was a liberal.

Ergo....
