Well people have their own opinions on things and especially on personalities they like to follow. You can’t please everyone. I guess after several months I have given up even trying. Use to be on a kick to promote people I liked on radio or in the conservative movement, but it failed.

The problem is that certain sites only promote certain people. People including Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin or Sean Hannity, mostly on Fox News. Places like Mediaite are a joke. Mediaite just focuses on Fox News, maybe MSNBC, sometimes CNN. They repost or clip video from those networks. They sometimes mention Glenn Beck, they sometimes mention the fledgling Al Jazeera and that is about it. Very Biased Site. You won’t hear anything about the new One America News and their two shows with Graham Ledger and Rick Amato, Rusty Humphries’ radio show, Dennis Miller, Other hosts on The Blaze radio, and so on.

Another similar one is Right Scoop. The Scoop they give you is very biased. They focus only Mark Levin this and Mark Levin that. Do they give equal time to other hosts and shows and personalities like Michelle Malkin and the staff at Red Alert Politics? No!

Basically one is forced to create their own site or blog and promote the heck out of others who people will miss or not hear what they have to say. One will have to clip their own audio or video. Be better if they can do the Mediaite and Newsbuster method of finding a host other than youtube in case your account ever gets banned for whatever reason. Those two sites have their own service or pay for a service so clips will remain until the site shuts down, pretty much.

So people are missing a whole heck of a lot of others and other sources. They also only hear about certain people like Hugh Hewitt when something happens that causes either the left to go nuts or a site like Breitbart or The Blaze or Newsbuster finally gets around to them.

People then only only what they know from what they hear on these sources or from what is being written or from what other people say.

Personally I am sick of it. So I gave up even caring. I even made a mistake by jumping to the conclusion Glenn Beck was for Homosexuality and lesbianism. I don’t have 100 proof of that. A spirited debate broke out on The Blaze website on the thread about Beck’s New York Time interview. Basically, Glenn should have not given an interview to a leftist outlet. But I ran with it that he was in favor of gay marriage because the Times said so in their line of questioning. So I had to go post it on this site and get people to bash Glenn.

It was my fault for jumping to a conclusion. I don’t know which way he leans, to be honest. But to also be honest, it shouldn’t take away from all he has done.

Still the bias from some outlets is clearly their. they promote Mark Levin’s book but they don’t promote Aaron Klein’s book on impeaching Obama. The promote Fox news, but not a peep about One America news’ Graham Ledger or Rick Amato. They promote Sean Hannity, but won’t mention his competition on radio at TRN1, Rusty Humphries. They don’t promote Michelle Malkin as much as they did before and they skip Dana Loesch. So people still didn’t know who she was when she went on The Blaze or Fox News. Just how it goes therefore I am not as excited about some sites. I skip them now isntead of reading the predictable junk. I am somewhere else on another wavelength. As I like to say Ten step ahead of those clowns and three steps behind. Behind because I can’t check in with every show, outlet, site and thread every day 24-7. But I do what I can.

Wow,

This thread goes back to March.

Thanks for your thoughtful reply.

The division of promotion of conservative personalities, among conservative outlets as you described, seems like natural competition for a limited audience. It’s not only preaching to the choir, it’s chopping the choir up into smaller groups. I find this counter productive, to say the least.

As I consider the political and social landscape with regard to the challenge of preserving our republic, it strikes me that the “Message” has taken a back seat to the “Messenger”. “He’s on Fox, therefore anything he says has no merit”. While I can personally say the same of liberal personalities that show up on CNN, MSNBC Etc.. I think we both know that it is not the same thing.

Some time ago Glenn Beck did at least one show on Fox that I think moved him to a concept that he continues to embrace.

The question he asked and the position he has subsequently taken was the defining of “Left and Right” as it is understood by the voting public.

Glenn went to his blackboard and drew two parallel lines, like railroad tracks both heading to the left. The left hand track represented Socialism/Communism and the parallel counterpart represented Fascism/Corporatism.

This false “choice” has been presented by the MSM for a number of years, as if these are the only choices available. For the most casual and voting observers the choice is between a government that will do something for you and a government that will do something too you. Is it any wonder how Democrats get elected ?

As a result of the False choices presented, the conservative is painted as Hitler, while the Democrat is painted as FDR/JFK.

Both are left of center. Both are all about Government control and the acceptance of choosing between the lesser of two evils.

Glenn Beck is building a media empire based on the concept that the majority of Americans fundamentally reject the “Two choices” presented (It’s actually only one), for an alternative track that is based fundamentally on Individualism, the Constitution and the “Leave me the F*** alone” desire that virtually everybody possesses.

Libertarianism or the “Classic Liberal” requires a great deal of faith. A faith in our fellow man vs. a faith in government.

While I have no doubt that Beck hates the idea of “Same sex” marriage, Abortion Etc.. The issue is one of moral/social acceptance vs. being told to accept this by the force of Government.

I would venture that while Beck built his audience on Fox, he wishes he wasn’t defined either way.

The Media complex has been broken and disconnected for some time. Fox News generates an audience that dwarfs their competition and yet under the free TV, advertiser driven model, they run mini “infomercials” while their competitors get ad dollars from large mainstream corporations. There is a serious disconnect here.

Glenn is trying to shed any association he has with a messenger that will not allow his message to be considered.

I’ve been saying this for a number of years now.

I could more than double the audience, in six months and double it again within a year, of virtually any MSM broadcast.

At some point the exec’s will need to actually realize that they are running a business.
