San Francisco Just Isn't Gay Enough for Oaklanders
SF Weekly ^ | Thu., Jan. 10 2013 | Erin Sherbert

We have yet to recover from last year when we were told that the God-worshiping city of Salt Lake City, Utah, was gayer than San Francisco. Now, the gay universe is adding insult to injury when it decided that Oakland, the place San Franciscans love to hate, is gayer than gay.

Using this criteria below, the Advocate decided that not only is San Francisco not the gayest city in the nation, but our stepsisters across the bay are more homosexual and fabulous than S.F.

Daughter and I flew PSA to Frisco from LA circa 1981 when she was about 6. We rented a car and had a nice time for the day. But been there, done that. I’ll never go back.

Still in LA, but at least I commute every few months to the upcountry of SC. Hallelujah!

Has anyone published a map with names and addresses of the gay residents? It’s good enough for gun owners.

“This plague has come upon us by infection, and it will spread still further, just as in the fields the scab of one sheep, or the mange of one pig, destroys an entire herd.”

Juvenal, Satire II

... and yes, that’s what he’s talking about.

“The God-worshiping city.” Notice that wording - its such a foreign concept to them

OK, I will probably regret asking this, but how do they determine the gayness of a city?

I lived in Salt Lake for 2 years. Never really struck me as being a ‘gay’ city. I lived just 3 blocks from the temple, across from the ‘avenues’.

When the jazz brought in a WBA basketball franchise, I was given tickets.

At the first game I was awe-struck by the number of beautiful woman with no make-up who attended.

I had never been to a sporting event where 80% of the crowd was female.

However, back out and about in the community, I never noticed.

TACOMA!!!! Seriously!

I thought it was Minneapolis. Or did they lose that coveted designation a few years ago?

Not that there’s anything wrong with being a Raiders fan.
