These ‘hordes’ won’t be the “Walking Dead” type who can walk and exist on nothing for decades;

The 'hordes' can't go too far from their supply of crack and heroine.

They for sure won’t be walking for miles and miles to forage. They’re lazy....your best bet is off a bus/rail line and not close to an interstate or main highway.

Gas is going to be non-existent so they won’t be driving anything they steal very far. Then, it’s up to you to do with the local takers.

True, but plenty of folks who live in urban America who are not on drugs but live by swiping the EBT...once the food in their fridge is gone, they will go somewhere. The urban non-poor should be considered as well. If you’re a person who works for a living and has some skills but is not a prepper, do you hang out in a dead city full of looters looking to take the little you have left or do you hightail it? Some will.
