Good for you. I would love to see him but can never find the time. When I was at Ft Bragg my good buddy went and saw him. At some point in the show the drummer tossed his drumstick and cracked him in the head. As far as I know he still has it.

I 100% agree. No Keaggy, list is flawed. I have followed Phil since the ‘70’s. Even produced a Keaggy/Clark concert in Jersey. (even have a bootleg Keaggy with Peter York at Creation ‘80). But, as Phil himself would tell you, his King is Jesus and his reward is not of this world. At that time I went through a period where the Lord had to show me that a. don’t idolize Man and b. we don’t need validation by the world. I still would like to see Phil be recognized for his talent.

Not a bad list, you could throw them out at random and the rankings would mean about the same. One guy who is underrated, because he plays for a “pop” rock band, is Neal Schon.

My favorite Danny Gatton story ... heard while attending a Bill Kirchen guitar workshop.
Kirchen (who should be on the list) was taking his tele to the guitar doctor, none other than Danny Gatton. So when Bill came back to pick it up, he thought he’d lay a few licks on the lowly guitar doctor. So after doing so, Danny picked up the guitar, did his thing, causing Bill - pretty much in his own words - to walk out with his tail between his legs, absolutely blown away by Danny.
Danny should be on this list.
It's about time JB started making some of these stupid recurring "greatest" guitarist lists. Give them another 10-20 years & he'll be in the top 5 consistently, since he's still only 35. In my book JB is the best guitarist out there right now, for lots of reasons, including many of the interpretations I list below.
They really need to supply some better definitions of what "greatest" means for these goofy lists. This particular list is all over the map, and frankly the ordering is totally laughable no matter HOW you define "greatest." Are we talking most influential, most proficient/skilled, most diverse, most popular, or something else?

Laughably low in the list I know, but at least he made it. Also, I've seen SRV referenced many times in this thread - but not once have I seen his name spelled correctly (including in the summary compilation above), although the original source has it right.
It's "Vaughan," not "Vaughn." Strange I know - but there's an extra "a" in there.
I was thinking of him. I could not remember his name. My brother saw him in concert. He said he was amazing, plus the place was crawling with hot chicks.
I saw Paisley a few years back in Lowell, Ma during a major snowstorm. They almost cancelled the show , except it was half full. I ended up moving up to the fourth row.
I saw Vince Gill in 1983 when he was with Pure Prairie League.
I just want to add Tommy Bolin to this list .
