I plan on fixing my truck, Changing my daughter car's Spark Plugs and MOWING!
I notice in more than 30 posts, only two of you mentioned doing anything to actually, you know, WIN A DAMNED ELECTION or something.
Talk is cheap. Go volunteer at your local victory center (if you have one), or drive to a nearby battleground state if you’re not in one and volunteer, or go to the campaign or RNC website, and make some phone calls via your computer.
The future of our country rests on this election, and we are poised on a knife edge. It will take action by the grassroots, not a bunch of online whining to the choir - unless of course you want four more years of socialism unimpeded by concerns about reelection, and the necessary Supreme Court appointments to rig the deck permanently.
No gonna miss her...relationship never should have happened but it did(sorta taboo). No regrets on either of our parts..pledged to be lifelong friends.
I have 4 Cars, 1 Pick-up, 1 Harley(MC), 3 Push Lawn Mowers(1 works), 1 John Deere Lawn Tractor, 2 Rabbits, 1 Hamster, 4 Dogs, 1 Cat, 2.23 Acres of land, 1 House, 1 GORGOUS(sp?) wife(:-)! a 2 kids @ home AND A FreeRepublic Account! LIFE IS VERY GOOD! G*D Be Praised!
Lighten Up, Francis...
Hunt troutsies and maybe hike a trail.
Later, definitely work out doing some 12 oz arm curls.
Continue clearing 3 acres of weeds, clean the pond, plan the garden lay out, find a spot for the bees. Other than that, not much :) Oh, at some point, a good cigar and an adult beverage.
There was no need for the lecture. Many of us are doing things to win this election. Why don’t you start your own thread asking folks what they are doing to help win this election.
this weekend I am going to sit down and totally consume a chocolate/mocha cake....
Yep! FLL. Our family has been doing this for several years. It’s not easy to coach, but we have had some wonderful moments, and the kids really do grow in skills and confidence. Last year we won at the qualifying tournament and you would have thought we won the Olympics the way our team and the parents carried on. We’ll never forget it. (But we do hope to repeat it!)
Oh I ALSO have 2 hives of THOUSANDS of Honeybees!
Bingo! You know what I noticed? That everyone is doing productive things and taking care of business and family!!
These are the people that are self reliant, productive and have their priorities straight. These are the people that are going to rebuild this country!!
Go Freepers!!
It is good to see a relaxed thread every so often.
Being a Shriner I am going to ride in several
community parades, do a static, and attend a BBQ.
Sometimes you just have to forget everything else.
By the way I am a Former NAVY Electrician who
served on two LST’s and a Bird farm. LST 532,
1160, and CVA 19. 1963-1967
Cool. Never done FLL. My son did FTC for 2 years and is on his 2nd year of FRC. I got sucked into the vortex of helping coach. We won Rookie All-Star for Chesapeake last year and got to go to World’s. What a rush.
As a side note, my brother has been a FRC mentor for years. (His first team only had two numbers) We’ve got a shot of my son at the age of 2 or 3 playing with one of the bots and now he’s on a team.
Our group has a couple FLL teams and lots of resources on the website. www.techbrick.com.
Good luck to your team.
My wife and I are hosting a party for my kids, their friends and those childrens’ parents prior to the high-school homecoming dance on Saturday.
Rack an IPA to the secondary...
then Watch Big Red Crush Whisky...
its gonna be a great weekend!!
Going to our cottage in Northern Michigan with my husband and daughter, taking the boat for one last cruise around the lake before we pull it out for winter and checking out the beginning of fall colors. Watching the sunset over Lake Michigan bundled up in sweatshirts...No internet, no television, no news. Last smores at the campfire for the year. One of my favorite weekends at the cottage bar none...
Did I leave anything out?
Lol!!
Take my wife to a couple of 2/5k races and try out the new 60d.
Maybe get an engine hoist for long overdue pet project and maybe try to strip that ragged old body off the 68 willys. A starter rebuilder has me on hold doing other stuff.
YOU, can be REPLACED with a MACHINE!
Watching football with real refs. =)
You forgot about compiling your FR Opus and taking your rightful place in the DU panthion.
whut? I’ve got a whole afternoon scheduled for that
Heading to Gloucester County’s (VA) Guinea Jubilee Saturday, then off to the lake cottage on Sunday to do some brush cutting.
Oh, and bottle the Black Tower Ale.
I am going to a friends house for an October fest. Lots of German food, German beer, and no German wines under 13.5% in alcohol content.
I plan to do my part by telling as many Obama jokes and anecdotes as possible. Just enough to be entertaining and maybe informative to any closet Obama supporters.
I plan on continuing to prepare for all that bad stuff to happen. To me, that is good stuff.
Grading, grading, and MORE grading...
We’re going to the sprint car races at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, MO.
After you finish your truck, could you drop by and fix mine?
What’s broke? I am putting on a muffler and tail pipe.
Clean and restock the camp trailer, go to a college football game that my granddaughter is cheering, clean house, do books, relax.
Going to a BBQ Bash and eat me some good BBQ pork.
I’ve got canning to do. Tomatoes, beets, and squash! Also, continuing my search for a clothing manufacturer that will work with my designs. I’m making stylish concealed-carry clothing for women, pics are at the website in my tagline.
Amateur. I plan on failing to clean my garage for the 1,042nd weekend.
Deer season opens, but damn it’s hot.
After many months of recuperating from complications from an unplanned c-section, and finding out that I do not need additional surgery to repair anything else, hubby and I are moving our 7 month old baby boy to his upstairs room, since I’m allowed to do stairs now! :) Baby and I have been shacking up in the downstairs dining room converted to nursery.
I am going to let it rest a while and work on my back porch this weekend, making a screened porch where it had been enclosed as a storage room by the previous owner. I am putting up a ceiling currently, then comes painting and the screening.
Where? I want one! !!!
I will mow my lawn.
“Not a particularly positive activity” you say. “Not negative, but pretty much neutral.” I disagree.
I - there is an “I”. Had I lived more than a few decades (mere years?) earlier, I wouldn’t be. Period. Modern health care rocks.
Will - it’s my choice. It’s an option, the option exists. For all too many people, it isn’t an option.
Mow - I live in a culture featuring enough luxury that mowed lawns is the norm (as is irrigating it with drinking water) unto a requirement. I have a broad option of tools to do the mowing with; I choose an unpowered “reel” mower, inexpensive low-tech no-emissions ... though I should probably fix the fossil-fuel-guzzling self-propelled beast the other half insisted on.
My - it’s MINE. Well, other than the “rent” of property taxes, and the ongoing mortgage which I _could_ pay off with other assets. Owning property, albeit 3/4 acre (with forest!), is a Good Thing(TM).
Lawn - it’s grass. It’s flat. It’s green. It’s not out to kill me like flora in the southwest, it’s not impossibly sloped or bumpy, and it’s not brown (yet, winter is coming and no snow to cover it).
THIS IS GOOD.
I will mow my lawn.
Ren fest Saturday. Play in worship band Sunday and have chili cookoff after.
I will be doing what my wife tells me to do. (Am I the only honest guy here?)
There is an outfit in Argyle Texas.
If serious, I can set you up. They get low mileage ones and make them street legal for the USA.
Nothing like a vehicle with 3/4 inch solid aluminium doors!
Do they have a web site?
1) helping a friends son work on his BoyScout Eagle project
2) going up to Estes Park for the annual color change tour my family takes
3) Dave Ramsey financial peace class (week 3)
