I got this ready in case SteelYourFaith does not do his excellent synopses list! I'll go ahead and post it, and maybe he will let us know if he wants to take over doing it as before.

I see an error in the time stamps on the lineup. The Mercury Theatre is billed in a half-hour time slot, but it's an hour-long show, so the air time of the last two shows are off by a half-hour. I have the correct air times below.

Thanks to J. David Goldin's RadioGOLDINdex for this information:

7 PM EST Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar. November 2, 1955. Part 3. CBS net. "The Valentine Matter". Sustaining. What happens to a thrity year old grudge when somebody explains it with bullets! Bob Bailey, Roy Rowan (announcer), John Dawson (writer), Jack Johnstone (producer, director), Marvin Miller, Jack Moyles, Lillian Buyeff, Betty Lou Gerson, Barney Phillips, Will Wright, Forrest Lewis, Jay Novello. 13:57.

7:15 PM Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar. November 3, 1955. Part 4. CBS net. "The Valentine Matter". Sustaining. Proof that the murder of Danny Valentine and his wife aren't the only ones to be solved. Bob Bailey, Roy Rowan (announcer), John Dawson (writer), Jack Johnstone (producer, director), Marvin Miller, Jack Moyles, Lillian Buyeff, Betty Lou Gerson, Barney Phillips, Will Wright, Forrest Lewis, Jay Novello. 14:40.

7:30 PM Dragnet. August 10, 1950. Program #61. NBC net. "The Big Actor". Sponsored by: Fatima. $10,000 worth of narcotics has been stolen from St. Christopher's Hospital. Jack Webb, Barton Yarborough. 29:53.

8 PM Gunsmoke. November 14, 1953. CBS net. "Professor Lute Bone". Sponsored by: Post Cereals. The Professor is selling wormseed tonic that cures just about everything, possibly because it contains opium! The script was used again on the program of October 20, 1957, and on the Gunsmoke television series on January 7, 1956. William Conrad, John Meston (writer), Georgia Ellis, Howard McNear, John Dehner, Barney Phillips, Lawrence Dobkin, Paul Dubov, Norman Macdonnell (director), Rex Koury (composer, conductor), Parley Baer, Ken Peters (announcer). 24:42.

8:30 PM Duffy's Tavern. October 19, 1943. Blue Network. Sponsored by: Sal Hepatica, Minit Rub. Guests are Peter Lorre and Mrs. Welles' talking bird. Peter helps Archie track down the thief of a sandwich from the free lunch counter. Peter Lorre, Ed Gardner, Florence Halop, Peter Van Steeden and His Orchestra. 1/2 hour.

9 PM The Mercury Theatre. October 23, 1938. CBS net. "Around The World In Eighty Days". Sustaining. An original adaption by Orson Welles of the story of Phileas Fogg, the eternally punctual Englishman. Al Swenson, Arlene Francis, Bernard Herrmann (composer, conductor), Dan Seymour, Edgar Barrier, Eustace Wyatt, Frank Readick, Jules Verne (author), Orson Welles (host), Ray Collins (narrator), Stefan Schnabel, William Alland. 59:49.

10 PM Box Thirteen. September 12, 1948. Program #4. Mutual net origination, Mayfair syndication. "Actor's Alibi". Commercials added locally. The first episode in which "Suzy" works for Dan Holiday and not for the Star-Times. Murder in a radio studio, death by electrical transcription? Alan Ladd, Frank Hertosig (writer), Rudy Schrager (composer, conductor), Sylvia Picker, Ted Hediger (director), Vern Carstensen (production supervisor). 26:30.

10:30 PM The Mysterious Traveler. September 24, 1944. Mutual net. "Death Laughs Last". Sustaining. A man needs $1500 for a brain surgeon to save his wife's life, but the money is not that easy to get. The story has a fine ironic ending. The "Traveler" jumps his sound effects cue at the end of the show. Jock MacGregor speaks on behalf of the National War Fund. An announcement is made that on October 7th, the show will switch to Saturdays at 10:30 P.M. (Eastern). The script was used on the program three years later and on "The Sealed Book" on September 9, 1945. Maurice Tarplin (as "The Traveler"), Robert A. Arthur (writer), David Kogan (writer), Henry Sylvern (organist), Jock MacGregor (director), Elizabeth Morgan, Phillip Clarke, Carl Emory. 27:46.

Hi Gina, I think you have the list until steel formally asks for it back. How are you? Your week was good?

Like this lineup and Mysterious Traveler...never hear of Box 13.

Box 13 stars Alan Ladd. Great voice. Plays a columnist that solicits "problems" (to Box 13, can't remember at the paper, or PO) so he can solve the mystery, and get a story out of it.

Generally better than most of its genre, IMHO.

Hi, Vision. Yeah, I guess you’re right. Steel’s sources were better than mine, more detailed (I repeat myself), but his would be a welcomed-back re-addition.

Our week was fine. We got a few inches of rain spread out over the week. Still hot, of course, though.

Anything new happening with you up there?

Cool. Didn't know Ladd did radio. His film career spanned the best years of film...’30s ‘40s, and ‘50s.

I think your sources are fine and am thankful you post it.

The week was ok. Found out I'll be in Miami next week for a conference. The lawn company started killing off the grass to begin a rejuvenation.

Any cooking this weekend? Grilled london broil yesterday (tonight's leftovers) and made cherry cobbler.

Your lawn company kills your grass to start over? Wow! I’ve not heard of anyone doing that.

I hope you have a good time in Miami, although you’ll probably work mostly—or conference it, which may be boring; I don’t know. At least you’ll probably get to eat something nice! :-)

We don’t have a barbecue lined up, because we were both lame and didn’t get anything at the store. It’s been a lazy-butt weekend, and I’m slow getting the housework and laundry done today. Even your leftovers sound great—plus a cherry cobbler! YUMMMM!!!! We may do some Bubba Burgers on the grill.

If you restart a lawn I think it's standard to kill off the grass.

If you do Bubba Burgers try putting a pat of butter on them while cooking.

Love the BB's opening theme...sigh...

I love that theme, too! It’s lovely.

We do have some real butter and can try that pat on the Bubba Burgers, which we probably will throw on the grill! Thanks for the tip!

It must be different up there with lawns than down here. Down here, the only time a lawn is replaced is if it is dead or someone just wants new or different grass.

We have installed sod in new and existing yards, and we use a sod cutter to remove any existing grass or weeds, before laying the new sod.

I'm very jazzed about Ryan, Vision. I attended the Competitive Enterprise Institute gala banquet in D.C. in June when he was the main speaker. He was great there too.

Now we get to watch the Dems and their media hacks attempt to destroy him like they did Sarah.

When I hear him, I think of Al Stewart dropping his name in his song “Year of the Cat.”

Husband’s broken leg coming along very well though...
