Have not been able to make calls out of state all afternoon - from Northern New Jersey; anyone hear anything about this??
“Kenneth, what is the frequency?”
Don’t worry, you can use my phone...
LOL... you had to know this would happen on FR. ;>)
It’s weird - it’s only land line, and only from my location to out of state.
I have Verizon Fios - Phone, Internet & TV.
Internet and TV were fine.
Hold it -
well look at that;
I was multitasking, typing this comment to you
and getting another land line call attempt off
and finally, no more
“all circuits are busy”.
Oh, and thanks to everyone for all the chuckles.
I laughed with everyone.
I used the “vanity” option because the issue had lasted so long today, and I found no news on it anywhere.
Thanks again.
Oh. And are you logged in?
Thank goodness you got that cleared up. I was worried when you didn’t reply again for so long. Looks like it was nothing more than a sloppily installed Feral wiretap causing the usual stress and chaos for the good of the sheeple then!?! lol
Like I said above - whatever the issue was finally resolved itself, while I was reviewing everyone’s comments, which I laughed over along with everyone else. Had I found some news on the issue anywhere, I would not have used the “vanity” option.
But then all of us would have had a less entertaining late afternoon here on FreeRep.
AT&T has been having issues across the country today. Our internet at the office (Dallas) was out for several hours and calls to their “help” center stated there were/are intermittent problems nationwide.
Since a good amount of all the phone and internet traffic relies on AT&T’s backbone, that could be the reason you are having problems.
I spoke with my cousin who works for ATT last Saturday. He spoke of “hauling the load” of calls on their transmission lines including land lines and cell lines between call points.
He told me he has been at it with them for 43+ years....... a long time with one company
That must have been the noise I kept hearing right outside my house all morning, which I mistook for my neighbors instead of the Gestapo.
10Q for the pic, now added to my collection
The smell in Newark caused it.
Since all of NJ telephone and internet connections are routed through NYC switching, I would guess that Mayor B has instituted a daily limit on the number of calls allowed ... for your own good of course!
I heard something was going on around the Grover’s Mill area.
For calls or everything?
“Since a good amount of all the phone and internet traffic relies on AT&Ts backbone, that could be the reason you are having problems.”
I guess that would make sense, if Verizon Fios Internet traffic “splits off” from Verizon Fios “land line” phone calls, here in New Jersey and our land line traffic hits the AT&T backbone here in New Jersey, and the Fios Internet traffic gets through some other way.
But I don’t know enough to otherwise judge your idea that it could have been - here in New Jersey - an AT&T problem all along, and not a Verizon problem - Verizon, who is ostensibly the local land line carrier.
An easy mistake to make. My neighbors look funny too.
Resistance is futile............
