SEATTLE - Human bones found by a hiker in a remote forest in Skagit County have been identified as an Anacortes man who disappeared more than 2 years ago.

They don’t call it Deadliest Catch for no reason.

It’s a tough job, he wanted to do it, so there you have it.

God have mercy on his soul.

His son was on-board the ship when his father went missing.

I believe it was the same season that the skipper of his ship had a stroke and died later in hospital.

I had been wondering what happened to Jake’s father. Now that they have found his body, I hope Jake and his family will have closure. God rest his soul and may the Lord’s peace be with their family and friends.

I think it was the same season Phil Harris of the Cornelia Marie had the stroke. I don’t remember exactly. But Jake Anderson, the son of the deceased man who was just found, is a crew member of the the Northwestern which is Sig Hansen and the Hansen family’s boat.

Phil Harris’ son Jake Harris was a crew member of his dad’s boat the Cornelia Marie. The two Jake’s did switch boats for a time which may have led to the confusion as to which Jake belongs to which boat.

I was really impressed with Jake Anderson. He whines a lot but he keeps a lot on his plate.

He’s OK. They had him on the After the Catch show and he was fine.

I found this for you on YouTube:

The article doesn't say what he died of.

Did he get lost and die of exposure?

I saw that show advertised. I’ll have to find out when it starts. I’d like to see it as well.

The big lakes are nothing to screw with. The ore carriers are 7 and 8 hundred feet long

After 2 years of exposure and predation, I don’t see how they will be able to determine a cause of death. Unless they find a bullet hole.

I was wondering if he was suffering from Alezheimers and just wandered from his auto.

Does anyone suspect foul play?

My husband is from Cleveland. When he was young, he used to think Lake Erie was an ocean because he could not see across it. I used to laugh because I was born on the east coast and could not imagine a lake being as dangerous as an ocean.

Then I heard about the Edmund Fitzgerald and the dangerous seas across all the Great Lakes. I don’t think its funny any more. The lake weather is not as predictable as the ocean hurricanes. The people who brave those lakes in the storms have a very dangerous job to do.
