Very bright, highly educated people in exalted positions in society which insulate them from inter-mingling with the common people can go through their highly refined thought processes and wind up blithely creating convoluted, seemingly idiotic decisions. Fact of life. Common sense is a rarely bestowed gift given the “wise” among us. Yesterday’s ruling by Roberts is just one example.

Why do so many people - at the highest level of government and the arts - lack even a modicum of common sense? Is it the educational system (it must be)??
