http://www.therightsphere.com/2012/06/report-two-former-auburn-football-players-shot-to-death/

Two former Auburn players have reportedly been shot to death early Sunday morning in Auburn.

According to KSLA, the shooting took place at University Heights apartment complex and authorities are confirming that there were multiple victims.

An unofficial report from the Auburn Plainsman, the campus newspaper from Auburn University, has said that former Tigers Ed Christian and LaDarius Phillips have died while former Calhoun County standout and current Auburn Tiger Eric Mack was wounded by a gunshot. No official releases have named the victims.

Mack is allegedly in critical condition.

Ping to the list.

I have read that Ed Christian was dead at the scene. Ladarius Phillips is thought to be a victim and Ed Mack has been named as well. Things are still unsettled. I do not think the shooter has been apprehended because I haven’t seen any reports that the shooter is in custody.

I understand the fight was about a girl and that the perp was NOT a football player.

It’s a little odd that the victims are former players. For Auburn’s 2011 season information, two of the three named so far are listed as sophomores and one as a freshman.

Just found this at a sports board;

Hope it isn’t as bad as being reported. Prayers go out to all. We ( Clemson ) play Auburn in our football season opener on Sept 1.

More and more in the southern states, incidents like this are increasingly referred to by the police with the abbreviation “UND”, which is not racially sensitive. The “Usual Deal” is that it implies one or more fatalities.

Still waiting for Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton to protest “The 95%”.

Fox News Update:

Turquorius Vines, 23, said he was at the pool party Saturday evening at the University Heights apartments with one of his friends. He said he and his friend were approached by two other men who started arguing with them over a woman.

Vines said he punched one of the men, while his friend hit both of the men over the head with a bottle. Either one or both of the two men then started shooting, he said. He said his friend was shot and killed, while two others also were hit by gunfire. Vines said he had never before seen the men who he had been arguing with.

"It's like I lost a lung," Vines said of his friend. "I don't know how I'm going to survive this."

Several emergency vehicles had converged overnight around the University Heights apartment complex where reports indicated a number of students who attend Auburn University typically reside. The building was swathed in yellow police tape.

It appeared that the shooting happened in an archway near the apartment complex information center, near the edge of the parking lot. Five uniformed officers guarded the area, which was sealed off with crime scene tape, and a handful of crime scene investigators were at work.

“LaDarious” “Turquorius” ??!!
I realize it’s tragic when young people die like this, way before their time, but it’s difficult not to smile at some of the names. What were their parents (parent) thinking?
Is there a thread somewhere about these types of names?

It used to be that when the fight was broken up, it was over and everyone went their separate ways. In present times, the guy who was whipped goes and gets a gun and comes back to kill the guy who hurt his precious ego.
