Those folks put the quits to fuedin long time back. I met a lass at a meeting in Logan WV a few years back who was named Hatfield. That uz her married name; she was born a McCoy. Said she knew half dozen or so other couples in the hills in the area who were Hatfield-McCoy pairings.

My dad grew-up in Logan. When I was little my grandmother told me that the Hatfields "are kin". Must be pretty distant though because I haven't yet found them in the family tree.

I think half the replies on this thread are:

1. Grown adults saying they can't handle all that violence on TV

2. I'd rather read a history book than watch a movie

3. I don't have cable (or don't have a TV.)

I watched long enough to get the impression that it was a bunch of ignorant liberal Hollywood actors trying to be authentic hicks. Having grown up in the south and with ancestors from that region, I don’t tolerate fake accents.
