NFL legend Junior Seau was found dead in his home in Oceanside, CA ... and a law enforcement source at the scene tells us cops believe he shot himself.

That is really sad. Just saw that video again the other day of him prying Ryan Leaf off of that reporter.
To: Perdogg
Tragic day for his family, dark day for Chargers fans.
To: BenLurkin
The NFL has a real problem on its’ hands, if it turns out that Seau’s problems, which have gone back the past few years, were related to concussions.

OMG. Seau is dead and Todd Marinovich is still alive???
San Diego is in a state of shock. Seau was sqaured away. No history of drugs or crimes.
To: newfreep
We’ll see, it will be curious to see what an autopsy will reveal.

Makes sense. Remember when he drove his car off the cliff and survived and tried to play it off like it wasnt a suicide attempt?

What a waste. Think of all the young folks who have died from cancer or young troops who never returned from war. This guy just pisses his life away.

Seau was just one of a long list of former Chargers who went on to greatness after leaving the Chargers. He was a very good player on a not so very good team.

Might have an equally charged problem if it is brain damage from steroids. Sorry to see this happen, I enjoyed his game.

We would hear about marital difficulties, but then he went to other teams and I moved to Mississippi.
I’m so shocked. God rest his soul.
I remember the days when he gave so freely of his time to kids.

The steroids problem is fixable for the NFL, the concussion issue will be much tougher to fix without making drastic changes to the game.

Terribly sad and shocking. He had to have been troubled beyond his ability to cope. His poor children need our prayers. God bless them. Suicide is the final act of despair, but it sure leaves the loved ones empty.

Seau died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest. just a crazy theory - maybe he dealing with brain issues and wanted to save it his head from trauma so his brain could be examined.

So sad! So hard to believe, too. I just saw Junior at the San Diego Trojan Club dinner a couple of weeks ago. He looked great and made some very inspirational remarks. Hopefully more info will come out on what caused him to do this; I would like to understand it better.

Maybe he had wife or girlfriend problems. I think that is why he drove his car off the road a couple years ago. I don’t understand it. A guy like him could always find another girlfriend.
To: Perdogg
How very sad. A standout linebacker as a Trojan and even better in the NFL.
