Yeah, and if somebody wants to spend the dough then it’s up to them. You may think it’s a waste of money, but the government spends more on less deserving creatures every day, and that’s money they took from others. I don’t begrudge private dollars for animal welfare.
It’s a nice story. As long as it doesn’t involve funds confiscated from taxpayers, who cares if it makes sense or not?
