Yes, they are absolutely not all 911 calls. If you look at each incident report, the “Call Source” is listed as either “TEL” or “911.” The last call, the night of the shooting, is “TEL,” and the police have stated that it was a call to the non-emergency line.

This is another area where the sensationalism in so many news reports has gotten out of hand. These records show 44 calls, most of them non-emergency, in the last eight years.

People can disagree as to whether some incidents merited a police report. I would note that on one incident, an open garage door, the operator notes that Zimmerman explained he was calling it in because they were told at a recent Neighborhood Watch training with police to report anything out of the ordinary. Not to read too much into that note, but it strikes me as almost apologetic.

IOW...you cannot link to any genuine report that supports what you say, not even one...but of course we both knew that you couldn’t.

Someone should inform Spike Lee, Ray Lewis, assorted NBA players, and so on...

He did not call 911. That is documented in the call logs at that link, although they were carelessly labeled by the city. It is also stated by police in the very first document at that link.

The unexplained “gated community” reference that keeps getting repeated definitely gives a certain impression which is not correct, but the community is, in fact, gated. It is not an apartment complex. They are multi-unit dwellings, but they are townhomes, with garages, which currently list for between $95,000 and $120,000. Decidedly not affluent. And census reports cited by the Miami Herald show that it is a majority-minority population, about 20% black.

I'm amazed at the number of people who've “chosen sides” rather than seek the truth.

Just thought that was worth repeating.

No, but if you pursue someone and a fight develops, it’s pretty tough to claim you were acting in self-defense.

But it is not impossible to still be able to make the claim. Also, we do not have evidence that Zimmerman "pursued" Martin.

One of the few things that is perfectly clear about this case is that Zimmerman initiated the confrontation.

That is not clear at all. Martin's girlfriend reports overhearing a conversation that began "Why are you following me?" At a minimum, Martin initiated the conversation. It is entirely plausible that at the moment they came face to face, Zimmerman was surprised. It is certainly plausible that it happened a different way, too, but I don't think the known facts make either scenario "perfectly clear."

The kid was just walking home minding his own business.

On this, I wish we could all agree. Unfortunately, many seem to want to turn Martin into a criminal, as if it is not possible that there was a sequence of events between two young men, both of them decent and law-abiding, that spun out of control and ended tragically.

When I was 17 and walking alone at night it would certainly have scared me if an unknown, ununiformed guy had followed me in his car and then chased me on foot.

I think you need to be careful about assuming he "chased" martin. There is no evidence that he did. But I agree Martin had reason to be concerned, and I can easily imagine myself turning back to confront the person, as Martin may well have done.

So it is at minimum plausible that Zimmerman started the violence, was losing the fight and resorted to his pistol to win. The law, even the arguably flawed stand your ground law, does not allow one to start a fight and then kill the other guy if you start losing. That is not self-defense, it is aggravated assault followed by manslaughter or second-degree murder.

Yes, that's plausible. It is also speculation. In my own speculation, I think it played out a different way.

I’m with you on this- it seems Zimmerman was just a diligent neighborhood watchman

He has no history OTHER THAN community service in this way

What does that have to do with knowingly posting false pictures?

I now believe the dart board picture is genuine. I dug up Martin's deleted Twitter account (you will need to turn off JavaScript temporarily to keep from getting redirected to Twitter's 404 page), and the user pic is a thumbnail of the dart board picture. Here it is, for comparison:

Also interesting is the background image Martin to give his online presence the proper feel:

That turns out to be a mugshot of Corey Miller, a rapper known as C-Murder, who is doing life without for beating up and shooting to death 16-year-old Steve Thomas in 2002 at a night club in Harvey, Louisiana.

Martin's deleted page lists his name as SLIMM, his location as YO HOE CRIB, and his (favorite?) website as LIES.COM. Dude liked caps. I had thought Slimm was his middle name. But apparently, it was his nickname. His actual middle name was Benjamin.

One of the two Google caches I turned up was spidered on 6 February. It contains a birthday greeting from EatYhurBrainz, aka Kia. Martin's birthday was 5 February 1995. Lovely Kia turns out to attend the same high school as Martin. Here is her greeting:

EatYhurBrainz @NO_LIMIT_NIGGA[Martin's Twitter ID] Aw! Happy Birthday Love! (: about 15 hours ago via Twitter for iPhone in reply to NO_LIMIT_NIGGA Retweeted by NO_LIMIT_NIGGA

Now I really want to know why he was suspended for ten days!

I’ll bet if Yahoo checked their logs, they’d find that Molech and Quark, slayer of Klingons have the same IP address.

Got any evidence that this kid was a "punk" who was headed for prison?

I have seen the picture of him in his gangsta outfit, and know that he had just been suspended from school for 5 days.

Pretty much all I need to know.

You mean the picture that looks nothing like Martin, and is likely a different guy?

When CNN stops carrying this story every hour and Sharpton shuts up you’ll know the truth has been told. De facto of course. Not that any of the black racists will ever own up to it.

Good grief! Are you really that much a Bozo? I’m too lazy to go back and find all the stuff I saw and read, so why don’t I just summarize it for you.

The Sanford police issued a statement (yes I read it here on FR) that Mr. Z had told them that he had lost track of Martin, had started back to his vehicle and was attacked by Martin. He, and a witness said that he was pummeled while he lay on his back. He has a broken nose and a gash on his head, along with grass stains on his back. Police saw the evidence and decided it was consistent with the reports. Ergo, they didn’t arrest him.

There, now go find your own damn links. Dumbass.

It is one thing for a FReeper or some other outside person to post such photosf, but for a legitimate news organization to post pictures that add to the propaganda that is trying to convict Zimmerman in the court of public opinion and to inflame racial division, it is disgusting.

With all of the disinformation and public pressure coming from people ranging from Sharpton, Obama, Spike Lee (tweeting Zimmerman's home address, the Miami Heat (wearing hoodies in suport of Martin) to Santorum and Jeb Bush, it will be very difficult for Zimmerman to receive a fair trial if he is in fact charged with any crime.

I agree, if zimmerman were to be charged he would not get a fair trial.

Sorry cowboy but Zimmerman’s self-serving statement (without any neutral corroboration)to the police does not constitute, as you put it, “strong evidence” that Martin attacked him....it is not evidence at all.

It’s plenty of evidence among a society in which a person is presumed to be innocent until proven otherwise.

Zimmerman was beaten. He was the one heard calling for help. He has the broken nose and the head gash. And the grass stains on his clothing from laying on his back on the ground. An independent witness, according to reports, says Z was defending himself.

Are you the leader of the Black Panther caucus here on FR?
