Trifecta. It’s an obscure little film about a double-post, vanity, in News instead of Chat.

This year it was the Mighty Macs which was yanked from our local theater after 6 days. Apparently there was no advertising money, but it was a great film, nonetheless. Trailer

Ask a child of the 50’s, I grew up watching westerns on Saturday mornings. Wasn’t into the singing cowboys, but the guys that helped others and overcame long odds to win the fight were truly my heroes.

The movies that inspired me to be creative and imaginative when I was younger don’t so much anymore. I love the old Star Wars (when it was called “Star Wars” and NOT Episode IV), and Star Trek movies, etc., the fantastical stuff, but now that I look back at them they really don’t hold as much meaning for me anymore when I realize they’re just platforms for liberal indoctrination.

My most inspirational has to be “Tremors” - boy meets girl - boy fights giant underground monsters with girl - boy gets girl. (+ Bert and Heather!).

honorable mention:

The Thing (original)

The Blob (original with Steve McQueen and Helen Crump)

My husband and I were just discussing this very idea last night as we watched “The Patriot”. In chronological order of the historical events about which the movies are based, our favorites include: Braveheart, The Last of the Mohicans, The Patriot, Schindler’s List, Saving Private Ryan, The Deer Hunter...
