Israel's chief rabbi is bringing home the bacon.
Yona Metzger's office says it is primed to allow import of an organic goose grown in Spain that tastes like pork. Metzger says three non-Jewish chefs confirm its swinish flavor. Jewish dietary law strictly forbids eating pork. Metzger's office says there is no Jewish injunction against eating goose, no matter what it tastes like, as long as it is slaughtered according to Jewish ritual.

Not sure if this qualifies for your list.
What will the rabbis say when you can grow synthetic meat in vats?
I usually describe goose as being “beef with feathers”.
HAHAHA! A standing joke with me is at potlucks or other events where pork or bacon is served I will ask if it is kosher.
About a year ago, one of the young ladies I worked with came back from her honeymoon and said she was mad at me. I asked her why, and she said that because of my constant questioning, and wanting to please any and all guests (orth. Jew, vegan, etc.) She tried to find “kosher Pork” and couldn’t. Someone finally told her.
I asked a prominent rabbi about GMO rice with human DNA in it. He said that as long as it tasted and looked like rice it was kosher.
Manatee became popular with many early Spanish explorers to the New World. At the time, Roman Catholics were forbidden from eating meat during the entirety of Lent and every Friday throughout the year. Manatee were thought to be fish, and were referred to in some early travel logs as, “the fish that tastes like beef.”
I had a friend who was Jewish who theorized someday their would be kosher pork- once they figured out how to engineer a pig that had no cloven hooves.
It’s the cloven hoof deal ~ it’ll all be non-Kosher unless somebody figures how how to add hoofs!
I’m not a big fan of pork, but bacon is the best food on the whole planet.
We call bacon Meat Candy
“We call bacon Meat Candy”
And piglets are known as “bacon sprouts”.
I’m still looking for Halal Pork.
Not for nothing but how would they know? If they are not allowed to eat pork the chefs could tell them anything “tasted like Pork”.....(Anyhow they could use this to their advantage) Let Israel start proclaiming that pretty much everything tastes like pork and let the Muzzies convert or starve....
Honestly, if you want Kosher bacon, just thin-slice some Corned beef. If you use the same cut, and fry it the same way, it’s actually better than pork bacon (though nearly identical in taste).
Yes, I can swear by it because I’m not Jewish and I’ve had both.
would still have to chew cud.
