The book also mentions Sarah Palin, who was criticized after the shootings for a map posted by her political action committee that showed a number of Democratic-held congressional districts marked with crosshairs. Giffords' district was among those covered by the tiny symbols, which were supposed to indicate seats that would be targeted by the GOP.
Giffords found the map disturbing. After the shootings, Kelly vented his feelings about the map to President Barack Obama. He thought Palin might call to offer condolences because of the mounting criticism, but she never did.

The leap the media has made is just plain childish.
Palin made a map....ergo, this loser must have been on her mailing list, must have seen the map, and must have acted on it.
The writers of this story are probably not stupid. They know full well how far fetched the Palin angle is....yet that didn’t stop them. After all, they are writing for the sheeple.

Everyday Conservatives have to deal with death threats and jokes made about them, didnt some MTV loser say that Sarah Palin should be killed like Gaddafi, yet NO ONE in the media made an issue out of it, like it was no big deal. Yet she makes a little map of districts she wants Republicans to win and its OMG the end of the world..liberals everyday amaze me with their utter stupidity. They know she had nothing to do with this, I doubt Giffords even wrote this book. I think her husband did, from the beginning he was bashing Republicans blaming us for what happened even though its been proven already this guy was a nut and a leftist

And the pity vote will keep her there as long as she wants. Trust me, we have Tim Johnson here in South Dakota, and the guy doesn’t even have to debate (which is what a Senator is supposed to do) during campaign season. But poor Timmy with all his liberal ideas will still tug the heart strings.
Wonder if this woman will ever realize that she is alive because of the superior medical care, which she as a Democrat, wants to deny to the rest of us.
Giffords was going to face a tough re-election in 02. The election campaign in 00 was tough enough. Right now the question of redistricting is up in the air, but its possible that the new lines drawn, to ensure that Marxist Raul Grijalva keeps his seat, would be detrimental to her.
I wish Giffords well, but the fact is that she was in a dead heat election and was only very narrowly re elected. She killed her previous broad base of support due to her party line support of the Obama/ Pelosi/Reid Democrat legislative cram down during the first two years of Obama.
Tucson is very liberal but it has yet to transition from liberal to hard left in most areas of town and a lot of otherwise liberal people were turned off by the hard left positions she supported. Tucson's huge retired population was not thrilled with ObamaCare, heath care rationing and death panels
It's likely she only won due to vote irregularities and fraud, mostly in the illegal alien community, pulling her across the finish line.
The whole reason why,in the first place, she scheduled the public meeting where she was shot was to start a charm offensive to try to re build the bridges she burned with a large segment of the electorate in her district during the first two years of the Obama Administration
