Sarah Palin: Not Retreating, Just Reloading
The Washington Times ^ | October 7 | Henry D'Andrea

Posted on 10/07/2011 6:01:37 PM PDT by conservativeforpalin

In an announcement that's been four years in the making, former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice-presidential nominee, Sarah Palin, said she will not run for President of the United States in 2012.

Palin, who has been in the presidential limelight since 2008, made her announcement on the Mark Levin Show late Wednesday, saying, “I believe that at this time I can be more effective in a decisive role to help elect other true public servants to office – from the nation’s governors to Congressional seats and the presidency. We need to continue to actively and aggressively help those who will stop the “fundamental transformation” of our nation and instead seek the restoration of our greatness, our goodness and our constitutional republic based on the rule of law.”............

Oh please.

She said she served God, family, and country - in that order. If you have a problem with that, I sure don’t.

I’m looking forward to hearing about tonight’s speech in St. Louis. Apparently there’s also going to be a question-and-answer segment as well (or so I’ve read).

And there are plenty of her supporters and respect her decision. She’s far from being done. Had she no influence the candidates wouldn’t have rushed to the phones to meet with her. And after thinking about it myself, we would be able to effect greater conservative change with majorities in both branches, executive & congressional than we could have with one conservative president and a few pick ups in congress. She couldn’t possibly campaign hard for conservatives if she was running her own campaign. And in the last election she worked harder than anyone else. We have to believe God has her on the path he wants her on. His ways are not our ways but his ways are always right.

I am not upset. I never really thought she would run although there were a few times when I was less certain. But she is doing what she does best. I am grateful for all she has done in setting the agenda and attacking these liberals. Go Sarah!

You’re not helping Cain with that kind of silly comment.

i think the order might possibly need to be:

country
god
family

...when there is a country worth saving and fighting for, that is.

If you can’t live in your own country with certain necessary freedoms, then how the hell does god or family get any of your attention? There are times when you better put your relatives and your preacher on the back burner and do what needs to be done so that your relatives and your preacher can once again be your most important thing in life.

However, if you decide the situation is so horrible that there is no possibility of victory, then you pull back into a shell and settle for preacher and relatives and wait for your chance to strike out to make things right once again.

Then why come on these threads? I wanted her to run to but I respect her decision and considering her reception in St. Louis, she’s hardly done. But really, going on threads about her as upset as you are isn’t healthy. Maybe as time goes on you’ll see that this was the right decision, that this has nothing to do with “fire in the belly” (that doesn’t go away). Maybe you won’t be able to get past this. What I do know is that she prayed about this and God has all of our interests at heart.

A Christian must ALWAYS put God first because the other 2 can’t happen without His guidance and heeding His word.

It is a matter of proper order. God must be first in your life, then family, then community. Reversing this order makes government god.

Because she lied to tens of millions of her supporters and broke the back of the conservative movement.

also, she has made herself known as a real quitter.
