After two years of sucking that Texas Workforce Commission's hind teat, I got a job today.
It hasn't even sunk in yet, but once I sign the W4 and see my mug on a security badge key, I'll believe it.
Congratulations on your new employment. I hope everything goes great for you.
Congratulations! And a big employment BTT.
My wife had been out of work for THREE years, but was finally able to find a job just three months ago! She was so happy!
During these three years, we dropped some services, had some hard contracts expire and with LOTS of belt-tightening, we only fell behind on a handful of bills. So much so that in only three months, we have started catching up and should be back on top of things by October!
Congrats! I hope things work out for you!
The "Online world" in which many people live these days (Facebook, dating, jobseeking) is kind of a mystical world, pretty much dysfunctional in my opinion (Other than FR, of course!)
I'm pouring myself a '7/7' in your honor....
Amen and God bless!
Congratulations! I’m sure this is a big load off your shoulders. Best of luck to you!
Brother, it is tough. I am just blessed to have a good woman who makes decent money. She was never pissy to me about my situation, always supportive, even if she gave me a list of things she wanted done: build some shelves, fix her bathroom plumbing, take the dog/cats to the vet, grocery run, help set up and break down craft show booths, all the usual stuff. She has been the one good constant in my hell over the last two years. I would never have made it without her. I would have gone into some crazy black mood that made things worse.
That gal is a peach. I knew it the moment we met.
What terrific news. A toast!! And heartfelt congratulations that you can get some semblance of normal back in your life.
Congratulations! If you need someone to help you unpack, I’m available. I need a job and The One isn’t helping at all. My savings are running out, the few stock shares I have left to sell are now almost worthless. I refuse to sign up for any government handout of any kind including food stamps. Where this will all end I do not know.
Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. James 1:12
Congratulations! I know what you went through and through the Grace of God, He carried me.
Good luck and remember everything has a beginning and has an end except for what is eternal to the Almighty.
God Bless
CONGRATULATIONS!
I don’t know you, but 10 years ago I was in the same boat, and I know how it feels.
So happy you’re gainfully employed again!
Here’s hoping tonight you have the most restful sleep in two years.
Best of luck in the new job!
You know, your employers have paid into unemployment your whole working life, unless you are self-employed. I ain’t big into entitlements, but you really might want to consider filing for benefits. Yeah, it hurt my pride pretty bad, but it was the bastids that let me go who had to pay for it.
Your choice, but when your money runs out you have to do something. I was to the point of thinking about food stamps, but that is just too much. Susan could have supported us, with an Asian wife you’ll never run out of food ;)
I hear you though, a man defines himself by being the provider, being a useless house husband hurts like stepping on a nail. A hot nail, covered with Anthrax and sulphuric acid. You start to think you are a failure, useless and pathetic. Been there. You gotta find something to at least fill the days. I’ve done volunteer work, built kids bikes at the local bike shop, replaced dishwashers for neighbors, just about everything but pushed my lawnmower around the neighborhood. I have seen the depths of depression I never knew existed except in meth heads and homeless people.
I wish I could help you WS. You have to find an anchor for your sanity or it will leave you. I have been to the edge of hopelessness, dark thoughts over that fence. I will say a prayer for you, don’t give up. No good will come from that.
Well, God Bless you both, your new job and your future endeavors!
I do agree that the love and devotion of a good woman will help you make it through all the trials and tribulations which may come your way! I know my wife seemed to feed five people on $50 a week sometimes, so I know she was scratching and saving to help get us through! We couldn’t have done it without her going all in as well! It was DEFINITELY a team effort!
Yea Chuck!! Congratulations!
Congrats!!!!
Congrats!!!!1 Really happy for you.
Congrats. Been there and it’s not fun. Hope all goes well
A good woman, a good truck and a new gun....sounds like Texas to me!! Doesn’t get any better than that. Congrats, man....
Your good news is my good news. I’m happy for you brother. Your story brought a smile to my face.
