GIRLS as young as SEVEN are being given pole dancing lessons, it emerged today.
The saucy instruction is being offered to primary school-age girls in Bolton, Greater Manchester.
The firm behind the classes defends them, saying it's all about improving their fitness.
But one unnamed parent said: "They advertise as being aerobics/ gymnastics with a pole but if you see the pictures, this is not the case."
A Christian group and MP have previously slammed similar lessons for children as young as 12 in Plymouth, accusing them of "sexualising" young girls.
But they are five years older than the children attending the Bolton sessions run by JLN Pole Fitness.
Miss Pole Dance 2011 champion, Jess Norris, who runs the classes, insisted they were a "fantastic" way for kids to keep fit.
She said: "There is nothing sexual about the classes.
"What I teach is pole fitness, nothing else. There is nothing at all rude going on."

sexualizing young girls moral absolutes ping.
I’m sure the dances are being secretly taped and sold to perverts.
You could turn on the TV and, on the same show, watch someone sing opera, and then watch someone spin plates on tall sticks. Both are entertaining. Together, there was something for everyone. Baryshnikov was a pop star. People swooned over Margot Fonteyn and they loved Chubby Checker as well.
I think all the High Art went away. Now we've got pole dancing.
It's all the "culture" some people know.

No, there is still some high art. Luckily, where I live you can see it any time you want as long as you have the big bucks. The RSC is in town to great reviews and my beloved “War Horse” (art of a very high sort) is playing to something like 99% capacity. The brilliant Mark Rylance just picked up his 2nd Tony due to his spellbinding performance in “Jerusalem.” Wow! I could go on and on with all the wonderful stuff happening.
I do agree, however, that I miss plate spinners and impressionists. But who will they impersonate?
One of the problems in opera and ballet is that we don’t have any stars like Barysnikov or Pavorotti to capture the imagination of ordinary people. They all got a little smaller somehow.
Excellent post.
You are correct. One of the hottest shows on TV now, is “Inside the Secret World of Gypsies” - or “Travelers” as they prefer to call themselves.
We are in a race to the bottom.
“Orgy Porgy, Ford and Fun...”
What a “Brave New World” we’ve crafted for ourselves.
To be fair, the balancing beam is just as suggestive.
Yes, balance beam performances are found in all the top strip clubs these days, I hear.
Wow! They must be learning the Krakowiak, the Warszawianka, the Mazurka, and the Polonaise!
No, of course not but if they were it would be just as revealing and provacative. During the olympics, some of the images of young girls on the beam in thier leotards were quite revealing, not much left to immagination in some.
If you equate a young girl in a leotard doing tumbles and flips on a beam with a young girl in a lingerie gyrating on a pole, you really need to get out more.
Yes, balance beam performances are found in all the top strip clubs these days, I hear.
I would imagine it's harder to stuff dollar bills in a leotard than it is with a g-string.
Nothing wrong with Pole Dancing.
Yea you’re right, doing a handstand split on the ballance beam ain’t got nothing on the pole.
"Yeah, the costume's a bit poofy, but I'm the one with his hands on the girl ..."
They're on it already. Here's a link to the First Islamic Emirate March this Saturday in the UK.
Scary stuff.
We must win back the culture.

Some people find any visual image of a female to be “provocative,” but that’s a personal issue for him, rather than something in the nature of gymnastics performances (in general) or any other female athletic pursuit.
