BREAKING ... GOP congr. source: WH asking for "major, unambiguous tax hikes."...No "big deal" if WH doesn't budge
What does that mean? The WH says if there are no tax hikes he’s done? Or the Republicans have caved and they are raising taxes? Or since the meeting isn’t till tomorrow how is this news?
riddles...WTH?
Ever smell burnt toast? Not a nice smell.
It’s what the GOP will be if there are ANY tax hikes
What’s that Lassie?
Timmy fell down the well?
I wish that dog could speak English!
While the GOP prefers ambiguous, easily disguised tax hikes.
I guess they’re at an impasse?
Sounds like sparing to me
They better tell that jackass Bohner if he caves, he will know what the smell of napalm in the morning is...his leadership will be of a third world party.
I am not a twit.
Barry also plans to veto any short-term debt limit hike to give both sides more time to negotiate on specific details:
UPDATE: With word that the White House is insisting on major, unambiguous tax hikes that will kill any hopes of a big deal, James Pethokoukis tweets:
Looks like it might be for six months or a year
NO RETREAT! This is war with this administration and we take no prisoners. The Republicans had better “man up” and hold firm. We will win this battle if they don’t cave in. If they do, they will be replaced in 2012.

Boehner needs to pull a Reagan at Reykjavik
You sing it brother! It appears the only men with balls on the Republican side are women. If this is correct, the Republican party is over. There will be revolt at town halls over the summer break from DC.
Obama can ask for anything he wants and needs to play to his Pelosi base that he is asking for “unambiguous tax increases”. Our side is going to be pretty unambiguous for tax cuts, I pray. The important thing is that we win this one. I think our side surely has gotten the message, and Obama is probably toast.
