I also remember George Plimpton doing a horrible job as a Western bad guy. I also really enjoyed "The Blue Max" but George Peppard was way too American to convince me that he was German. Come to think about it, I never did buy Richard Burton as Leon Trotsky. Epic fail there too.

Jack Black in Peter Jackson’s version of King Kong. And the monkey ties him for worst.

Perhaps the worst movie I’ve ever suffered through.

Michael “Fatso” Moore in every movie he ever made. An Alfred Hitchcock and Mel Brooks he ain’t. Mikey needs to stick to eating donuts and pizza and let the actors in his “movies” try to make his communist propaganda films believable.

How about the middle section of Saving Private Ryan, where we meet Private Ryan and he turns out to be Matt Damon playing Matt Damon.

Not sure if it is the worst performance, or the best performance of a rotten character, but I nominate Faye Dunaway in “Mommie Dearest”. She absolutely creeps me out in that particular role, and it is difficult to watch her in anything else without coloring her performance with the stain of Joan Crawford.

Who is worse? The brutal bitch-animal, or the actress who plays her so well...??

David Mamet appears to encourage the actors in his movies to speak as if they are just reading lines. I’m not sure of the reasoning behind this.

One of my favorite but by far the worse actor (and I'm surprised he has not come up yet) ever was BRUCE LEE.
Even when he got to speak undubbed English in “Enter The Dragon,” he stunk on ice. He was better as Kato then went downhill from there. His boy Brandon wasn't any better but man it was fun to watch them both fight.

I can’t believe Steven Seagal didn’t make anyone’s list.

Steven Seagal in anything, but specifically “On Deadly Ground”. He directed that mess too, so he should get extra consideration as the worst.......ever.

Brad Pitt in “Meet Joe Black”. Although, he is a good actor, so that may have been the director’s problem.

Before I opened the thread I thought “Glen Campbell in True Grit”, but you beat me to it.

Kevin Costner in “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves” was particularly bad as well.
