America The Right Way - Staying Vigilant
All of us and a variety of sources | May 2, 2011 | Freepers of good heart everywhere

"We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!" President Bush

The big news of the day is the death and burial at sea of Osama bin Laden. Thank you, President Bush and the US military (including my son and future son-in-law) who made this day happen. Other news is the nuptials of William and Catherine in Great Britain. May God bless their union and draw them close to Him in Jesus Christ. Alabama (my state) and other southeast states continue the task of digging out and rebuilding. A massive effort is underway with able bodies and supplies needed.

Good morning backatcha!

FWIW, I’m not planning to start a weekend thread or even a new thread on Monday morning. It is my thinking to keep this one going until it becomes too unweildy or until the first Monday in June. It isn’t really my intention to be “boss” but just simply a thread-starter-person. Any thoughts?

I can’t remember WHY it’s illegal to feed ‘slop’ to pigs, but I know it is....

Good “Sun Shiney” Morning!! Unfortunately, I have places to go and things to do so I won’t be able to take advantage of it.

Thank you. I did a quick research and the basic answer is that swill feeding is a major cause of hoof and mouth disease. I imagine this applies to especially to commercial piggeries but the law was made generally because of the seriousness of the disease. This last sentence is just a guess.

Who knows why they make rules like that? I just don't follow them. Life is complicated and serious enough complying with God's laws and the laws of physics. I tend to ignore the local yokels.

My dear neighbor, an older lady, just came by looking for her glasses (yes, they were here). She might have had a little too much wine last night. LOL! Good to see that happen to someone that isn't me.

Unless the slop is cooked to a certain temp for a certain period of time??

I think it’s a disease factor.

Of course, when I got up to make coffee this morning, my pine coffin was in the floor of the kitchen. So maybe I had a pretty good time last night, too.

I need to see if there is lipstick on the pig, and if it's declared for the Republican nomination.

Good afternoon lovely lady. Sunny sky, about 84 degrees right now.

M Kehoe: I just cut the grass.
Bonefish Grill announcer: You deserve an almond encrusted sea bass with mango salsa, and a pomegranate martini.

Sheesh, I sound like a commercial...

Snort! LOL!

Would young pork be more tender and succulent? Do you have any great recipes for pork preparation John?

On the mention here tonight is grilled strip steak, Greek salad, and...potatoes of some sort or another.

I never was much of a fan of Greek wine, Dolly, at least none that I tasted. But I do love saganaki. And Tzatziki. And avgo-lemano soup. And...and...

It's hard to beat slow cooking pork over an open hardwood fire.

Salt, pepper, heat.

I am beginning to think we did have a party here last night. The piano keyboard cover was up, and the banjo was next to the toilet. Fridays are always so confusing.

Talk Radio Rides to the Rescue in Tuscaloosa

Marvelous inspirational read! Good for Clear Channel who is really stepping up to the plate and those wonderful American neighbors.

Search on the title if the whole article doesn't come up, well worth a read.

Wowza. 7000 meals a day. My personal peak was 1600 meals in one day. And it was a very, very long day, and I had airmen for flunkies.
