"We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!" President Bush
The big news of the day is the death and burial at sea of Osama bin Laden. Thank you, President Bush and the US military (including my son and future son-in-law) who made this day happen. Other news is the nuptials of William and Catherine in Great Britain. May God bless their union and draw them close to Him in Jesus Christ. Alabama (my state) and other southeast states continue the task of digging out and rebuilding. A massive effort is underway with able bodies and supplies needed.
Sorry to hear of the surgery. Prayers for a quick recovery.
Toby, Toby, Toby! How many eggs have you gathered today?
Remember Johnny Carson?
How low are they ???
They are so low that Kenyans ...
I miss Johnny.
Good evening everybody. Jem, how is your back feeling?
Exactly.
BTW, I'm planning to come to the launch of JUNO on August 5.
Good evening! My back is feeling slightly better, but then again, I’m on pain killers around the clock. I’ve been only puttering around the house and not carrying anything more than a few ounces.
On a brighter note, the silk fabric I ordered to make my dress came today. That means I can block out the jacket and get started on the accompanying embroidery and lace. Good thing I have a year!
And rightly so, too!
The thing that bothers me is the fact that when Osama first came on the scene, after 9/11, it was reported that he had a kidney disease and was on dialysis.
If he was on dialysis, where did they get the meds, equipment and nurse/doctor who adminstered the dialysis? Was electricity available in his “mansion”, was the water pressure needed for dialysis available, etc.
Did he suddenly get well and not need dialysis. I’d really like to hear the explanation because I’m not exactly sure that it was Osama that they took out and very quickly disposed of. From the “mansion” to the sea with no time for anything but a few pics (which maybe don’t even exist as they won’t show them to us), really makes me wonder.
I'm wondering if, over time, the famous photo will be leaked?
Also, I think the dithering was only that he was afraid that something might go wrong and it end his political career. I think over the 16 hours, he was convinced by others that the risk of something going terribly wrong was low enough to take the chance. If some of our brave people were killed, overall, he couldn't care less about them; he would still come out ahead (politically) as long as they got Osama, and that was apparently a very high probability. Again and again and again I repeat: It's not about America; it's not about the military; it's not about anybody or anything but him. His obscene and unbridled arrogance demands it.
Ping to the list!
You know, ever since childhood, the only thing I remember about the Dems is that they raise taxes and give away our money.
Now they are giving away the country and they need to be stopped.
Hey, Toby!
Tax and spend
A beautiful day setting up here. Unfortunately the weather pattern has been sunny, rain, sunny, rain... Tomorrow more rain forecasted. We still haven't hit 70 this spring. Very cool spring.
You ask some very pertinent questions. Apparently we've been lied to by an "ally", i.e. Pakistan, for many years. I'm remembering Bush saying something about hunting down terrorists wherever they are and that if any country is giving them refuge, all bets are off. There is no safe place for a terrorist and we'll get you where you hide. Pakistan, obviously, didn't believe us. There needs to be serious repercussions against Pakistan. Period. Nuke their nukes.
I really, really want that photo, and others, to be released. The excuses this admin is giving is silly. The moslem world is already inflamed and angry. Releasing the photo won’t make a bit of difference.
Glad you could enjoy sometime away before heading to Orlando.
Daughter Carolyn is back in the DR. She will return home for good at the end of June.
Youngest daughter, Kathryn, is getting ready to graduate from high school during Memorial Day weekend. Her eye is better, but still healing. We meet with the retina specialist again in July. Saw him last week and he said that it continues to heal slowly.
Son Steven is working at UPS during the night, and going to school throughout the day.
I was able to buy my wife a dozen chocolate dipped strawberries from Shari's Berries! They came in yesterday and are extraordinary.
Happy Mother's Day to you!
Congratulations to Kathryn! She is accomplishing quite a bit, recovering from that horrific accident AND being able to graduate, too. Not having to see the doc again until July is a good sign that things are progressing on schedule. If things weren’t going well, they’d want to see her sooner.
Chocolate covered strawberries, yum!
I know Carolyn has enjoyed her time in DR. Winters will never be quite the same for her again.
Your son sounds very diligent. It is hard to maintain a work schedule and studies at the same time.
It is obvious that you and your wife did well for your children. To see the successes in their life speaks highly of you both.
Thank you for your prayers for my back. As I was drifting off to sleep last night, I was discussing with God what His will for me in all this is. I used to be very active outdoors and hike and garden and volunteer to do things like clean up after disasters. But now I must hold back or I’ll be an additional part of the problem. It is very frustrating for me. It is the frustration and the lack of direction that I’ve been discussing with Our Father.
We took what she said very seriously. This was a woman who lost 3 children shortly after child birth, and two other children who died at the age of 15. She always told us if she can overcome losing a child, she can overcome anything. She continued on with a devout faith that spoke volumes as to who she was. She lived her faith day in and day out.
Jemian... you strike me as someone who is in the same mold of my mother. You live devoutly and truly on a regular basis. You are an inspiration to all of us here. (I think I can speak for everyone...)
In our Christian faith we are often told to give the pain to the glory of God. I often think of the painting, Ecce Homo, when I am struggling. (the painting of Jesus before Pilate.) It reminds me of what our dear Lord went through for us. It keeps me going.
You are a remarkable and faithful woman. God is pleased!
Have a blessed day, and enjoy some of that warmth for me.
I really need to be over this. I have things to do.

I understand completely. When my back spasms today, and it will because it has already, I'll pray for you.
THX FOR THE PING.
Good Morning. The sun is shining in Iowa, after a gloomy, rainy day yesterday. I have a ‘few’ details to attend to inside this morning, and then I’ll be outside this afternoon,, attempting to finish up the garden clean up.
Jem, I really appreciate the ping, as you guys can get lost so easily amongst everything else here at FR.
Hi could you add me to the ping list also. I really do enjoy this thread. Thank you Denco Have to run, we are having to haul water to one set of cows today. The dirt tank (big One) went dry yesterday so down to one windmill for 80 cows and no way can it keep up. Pray for rain
You are added, Denco.
I’ll try to remember to ping the list every day, but I make no promises of consistency. Yesterday I was asleep due to the pain pills. IG, do I recall that you deal with lots of pain daily? I honestly don’t see how you manage. My back hurts to the point of not being able to walk or bend or stand or sit.
Research:
1. Curry Blake
2. Henry Wright’s
. . . book A MORE EXCELLENT WAY
Prayers for your pain and condition.
Medical experts say what?
When I had a hairline fracture of the L5 vertebrae last year, they said that it will heal itself and I’ll be fine. Last Saturday something happened and it started hurting again. On Wednesday at about 1100, something “popped” and it is as if I was in the second and third week of last year’s recovery. Previous to this I had a ruptured disk (1990) with successful back surgery in 1997.
All that is to say, I haven’t been back to a doc. Last summer, the back doctors all said, “old injury, we’re not dealing with it.” I have found doctors who will now look at it but we’re just barely hanging on financially and I don’t want to slide into that hole again.
I’ll follow-up on your research.
Good afternoon from over-cast Hoosier land. More rain on the way, I think
Jemian, prayers for your back pain to go away. Back pain is so hard to handle and cure, I think. My sister in Florida is going through so many tests at this time to find out why she can’t lay flat (can’t sleep in bed) because it is too painful.
My sister is flying up next week and I will be so happy to see her. She is a year younger and we are very close. She won’t know me, I have lost weight and hair.....most of my hair is gone now. I don’t know why I didn’t lose it during chemo and radiation treatments, my daughter said I like to do things different from everyone else. ha
I think all our ills and ailments are mostly from our similar age. I am now the older neighbor on the block.
Not meaning to cast you as elderly, Jemian or anyone else.....sorry about that. Please forgive me...
Where are you Toby.........sure miss you.
Dog, miss your wisdom on the ATRW thread too.

MED INSURANCE AND MD’S PROBLEMATIC TO GET ANY NEW HELP.
PLEASE PRAY FOR YOUR BRO. . . . FOR GOD’S TOUCH, SOLUTION, HEALING, WHOLENESS.
Have a wonderful visit with your sister. She may find you physically changed but very soon into the visit, the distance will melt away. Enjoy the laughter and the memories. It equals love.
Thank you for your prayers. If God doesn’t want it to go away, that’s okay. Please pray that I will be gracious and caring and not use it as an excuse to slack off.
Over Easter I heard a tale of a person who had an Oxycontin habit and spent some time in jail for illegally acquiring it. My response was “how in the world did she get a doc to prescribe enough to get her hooked?” My question now is, “will she give me the name of her supplier, please?”
I brought a stash of meds over from Indonesia to be used as needed. I am running low.
Obama got Osama and we got the versions.
(/Rush Limbaugh show)
Hey everybody, thanks for the ping Jem!
Thank you. Please ask them to pray for this SISTER, too. LOL!
I heard that and thought it was great. The “Man Who Shot Osama bin Laden” was great, too.
SOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRYYYYYYYYYYY
I often don’t keep that stuff straight on a lot of FREEPERS.
My error.
It’s not a biggie. I’ve been told that I have a masculine writing style.
I join in earnest, urgent prayer for you!
Thank you so very much. I am feeling pain free enough to step-down the pain meds to only aspirin. Thanks.
Yes, I deal with pain daily. I am on meds. Somedays they help, some days they don’t. After a while you learn to just fight your way thru it.
Wishing you the very best as you try to figure out how to best deal with your situation. Everybody’s different, every problem is different, so I won’t dish out any advice.
I agree about The “Man Who Shot Osama bin Ladin”....very funny!
Glad it’s better now.
haven’t seen you here in a while

it’s my tag now
