Since you decided to grace the “2011 NHL Playoffs Live Hockey Thread” with that beautiful eagle, I figured it was a good time for me to kick in $20 for the cause!

I heard on ESPN that Penguins Left Winger Chris Kunitz and Lightning Right Winger Steve Downie have received 1 game suspensions for separate incidents involving head contact.

Which means that both players will miss Game 4. IMHO, that hurts Pittsburgh much more, but both penalties are fair.

Excellent choices.

I know I'm being partial to my team, but it seems to me that without Crosby and Malkin for half of the year, the Pittsburgh Penguins wouldn't have made the playoffs without the incredible goaltending of Marc-Andre Fleury.

So I would suggest that he is truly the best choice for MVP.

I would suggest Ray Emory for the Masterton this year. Just saw him today, standing about 10 ft away. Nice quiet guy. I still hope we beat him tomorrow but I admire his tenacity.

Make that Emery, not Emory.

Good point. He’s also probably the best shootout goalie in the league other than maybe Lundqvist, and if the last couple seasons have proven anything, shootouts matter.

However, it will be hard to argue against Tim Thomas’s numbers for the Vezina, and I don’t think any goalie has ever won the Hart in a year where he didn’t win the Vezina. In fact, I’ve actually seen Tim Thomas mentioned more than once in the Hart conversation.
