’ P.O.W., a soldiers story of his ten escapes from Nazi prison camps ‘ by Douglas Collins.
Just finished it tonight. A good read.
Looks like ‘ Bridge across the sky ‘ by Richard Collier is next. Anyone read this?
Was really bummed out to see I missed the annual Boston Public Library book sale today. They sell thousands of books for pennies.
To: Logic n' Reason
Essential Lewis & Clark is outstanding.

Just my two cents Fiction v non-fiction. I'll take non-fiction any day of the week. History is my passion and its a heck of a lot more interesting than a work of fiction.

All the Devils are Here: The Hidden History of the Financial Crisis, by Bethany McLean and Joe Nocera. Quite the eye-opener.

Can’t lift the weight of fiction huh?
It’s okay. Some can’t.

I am reading two sets of lovely documents. The proposed California Regulations for Suction Dredge Mining and associated Draft Environmental Impact Report and the new proposed Planning Rule for the U.S. Forest Service and Draft Environmental Impact Statement. Both, together are about 9 inches thick. Oh joy, oh rapture.

I recently finished reading The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown. I am half way through Guns, Germs, and Steel by Jared Diamond. Currently browsing through The Ancient History of the Egyptians, Babylonians, Medes and Persians, Macedonians and Grecians, by Charles Rollin (Translated from the French), Vol. 4, probably printed in London in 1795, and my edition printed in NY around 1843.
Next, I plan to read Atlas of Ancient Egypt by John Baines and Jaromir Malek, and Great Military Battles, Edited by Cyril Falls (before I give it to my Special Forces son for his birthday in May), both bought today at a Library fund raiser.

I’m reading A STORM OF SWORDS (Book #3 of the “Fire & Ice” series). Heard Book #1 will be on TV shortly.

Recently finished American Brutus: John Wilkes Booth and the Lincoln Conspiracies, by Michael W. Kauffman. The assassination was a carefully planned conspiracy, not a sudden impulse by a crazed actor as most people think of it. A very thorough achievement by Kauffman.
