ANCHORAGE, Alaska - A moose in an Alaska park kicked a woman who got too close while trying to pet it, police said.
Police spokeswoman Anita Shell said the unidentified woman in Anchorage's Town Square Park was kicked several times in the chest and shoulder Monday about 4:30 p.m. but declined to go the hospital, the Anchorage Daily News reported.
The animal was seen feeding on trees in the park during the day and continued its feed after the woman, in her 20s, and police left about 5 p.m., the newspaper said Tuesday.
"At this time, we are telling people not to agitate the moose -- to give it space," Shell said. "It was just doing what moose do."

One thing my dear old dad taught me many many years ago.
Never ever try to pet something that is bigger than you or is meaner than you. Actually he didn't say "pet" but I figured I would clean it up.
