While true, WWI was “the war to end all wars”; it was when gas attacks were widely used (by all sides).
I’m a vet, I get it - but the LAST veteran of ANY war is a chance to honor EVERY veteran of that war. Most don’t get a chance to honor ANY veteran.
But, you know what, just my opinion - and just like as$holes, everyone’s got one, and they usually smell like poop.
I mean no disrespect to any vet. I do not mean to elevate those who lie in state at the capital above them. But I would rather his memorial be a military, not a political event.
