I am a Johnny Cash conservative
U-Tube ^ | Johnny Cash

Point is, Johnny Cash was a conservative, but he was an entirely different "conservative" than the supposed Huckabee. Sarah Palin reminds me more of a Johnny Cash conservative. The point is, many people on Free Republic hate palin for being a Johnny Cash conservative, and to them I say too bad.

Johnny let his fame and fortune go to his head and almost destroyed himself in the process.

Not sure you really want that as the model for Sarah Palin.

I’m just sayin’...

I don’t carry a pocket Constitution and my Kindle is charging.

That's a little long for bumper sticker.

Christ went into the wilderness. Christ was tempted. Johnny was not Christ, and I am not saying that, but Christ came here to show use that we can stumble and still succeed. The Point is, Johnny stumbled and rose like an American.

You are correct, but it is catchy.

Well, good for him. But he’s not running for president.

You are correct, but Sarah Palin could be, and she is the enjoyment of Johnny Cash.

Oh, it is. A real gem. One for the record books.

I am glad you agree; maybe we could have a Long-island Ice-tea.

Yes I agree the Bush derangement syndrome is a definite marker for loony leftism...just like Bush dellusional syndrome is a definite marker for rino love.

:)

And like I said Johnny Cash was no conservative...so I don’t think his dislike of Bush had anything to do with conservatism.

"You forgot plain old a$$hole$."

Thanks for the reminder that there are plenty of those out there, too.

That's the exact knee-jerk reaction I'm talking about...I'm not saying anything negative about SP herself, but the people who seem to embrace her as their Lord and Savior; those are the people to whom I refer to as "Palindrones". Personally, I'd guess that even Sarah herself would not appreciate people following her blindly. If you would have read anything else I posted on this thread, or on many other threads, you'd know my assessment, which is very favorable to SP. Right now, I'm of the opinion that she's probably our best candidate, and if she does become the nominee, I'll certainly work for her to get out the vote.

Having said that, any realistic person has to be cognizant of the fact that there are a lot of negatives she has to overcome that most other candidates would not. Even if they may not be justified, they are there. There is something fundamentally wrong with any person who thinks, more than a year out, that Sarah is a lock, and is the only choice to beat Obama. It could very well turn out that way, but what happens if she announces in a couple months that she has decided not to run? Do all the true believers go Masada?

Hardly. I was liking Christie and Palin, but now I’m not sure. Anyone but Obama, basically. I don’t think we can afford to sit out because of ideological purity if we don’t get the candidate we want.

Well, we are ‘face value’ types, but much of the world doesn’t work that way, though. It’s almost always Image over Substance. Obama excels at that crap. Because we’re honest people, we suck at it.

This is an ongoing list of historical, popular, Biblical, and fictional people that Sarah Palin has been compared to on FR:
