“10909 John Galt Blvd
Omaha, NE”
This was too ironic for me to believe, but I looked it up on their web site and it is dead bang on true!
Try finding a good Beef rancher or Farmer close to where you live, ask him to fatten a cow for you, (Pick a nice Angus Steer) have him/her feed it Corn meal, Sour mash and Alfalfa for several months, keep the cow quiet and from stress in the mean time.
There you have it. Kobi Beef at about $2.50 per pound, cut and wrapped. The flavor will be so outstanding and it will be easily cut with a fork. You may find yourself buying all your Beef this way from now on, if and when you decide to do it this way .
Since we have done this, all super market beef tastes like boiled burger. It has almost no flavor. We have tried Alan Brothers. It tastes flat in comparison as well. We have done this for the last 10 years and will continue to do so from here on out. We also save large amounts of our hard earned dollars in the process.
So-o-o-o-o-o, which of his political views do you not want to be seen as endorsing?
Freedom of speech? Freedom of association? Freedom to acquire wealth?
Please enlighten us as to the political views that Omaha Steaks DOES endorse.
Then we can decide whether or not we want to be seen as.....uhhhhh...how should I put this?.....ahhhh, yes....."ndorsing your companies political views" by buying your product.
Agreed! Very good. Big thick Texas cut chops, big thick and tasty steaks. Very impressed with Costco! A steer would be proud.
They can advertise on CNN and MSNBC and get no viewers at all. The ads will be cheap and you can bet that many of us would not dream of sending Omaha gifts to anyone on our list.
Two words: Allen Brothers
Definitely.
Yes, for real. There is John Galt Blvd in Omaha. Someone should ask them if their choice of location/address has anything to do with their political leanings.
We used to get Omaha Steaks with some frequency, but have found that Fareway Foods has meat that is every bit as good for a small fraction of the price.
I suspect most of the liberals who hate Beck enough to boycott them are vegans anyway. I don’t recall seeing an Omaha Steak Tofu Burger on their list.
Hmmm their server seems to be down.
“...Have fun advertising to liberal vegans/vegetarians...”
That is the point they seem to miss. They are controversial by the very nature of their business. The radical vegan and animal worship types have plenty of influence with the current regime. Omaha Steaks should take a stand for the traditional roles played by our mooing friends. They should get partisan and fast.
After reading thru a little of this:
http://steakbytes.com/2010/12/omaha-steaks-television-advertising-policy/
What I really think is that some of these idiots who started the whole boycott garbage should get a taste of their own medicine. Find out who THEY work for and boycott their companies. They hate Fox and Beck simply because they don’t want anyone to say things they disagree with, in essence they hate free speech for other people. So, boycott THEM. Make THEIR lives miserable by the power of the marketplace. They deserve nothing less.
The steaks at Costco are better...
They are also fed concentrated pellet forms of feed and their bodies cannot process it effectively. No wonder that commercially mass produced Beef is so bland and tough. I have had Costco Beef and it is no different from all the other crap that comes from those feed lots.
My uncle raises it, but I can't get it from there (Idaho) to here (New Mexico) at a reasonable price.
After I gave them my thoughts last night, I got an e-mail this morning: “We have missed you, we have a 50% off sale with no shipping charge if the order is >$59.” I gave them a “nice” response fitting theirs to Fox and Beck.
Omaha Steaks is going to find out that the whiny minority that complained about their advertising on GB do not buy steaks anyway, and that by caving in to their demands they will alienate the much larger Christmas gift buying, big spending, meat eating demographic that does.
