Good evening.
The NON-Recovery Fall is here, and leading into election day, it's expected that higher unemployment figures will not help the Dems.
Related to that, in a shocker, the Cleveland Plain Dealer has endorsed John Kasich for Governor over the incumbent Dem, Strickland. This is a "Did I read that right?" moment: a huge plus for Kasich.
I guess even a Lib paper in the most liberal part of the state can't hide from the truth.
Good evening!
Something must be wrong with me, or else I’m like the squirrels gathering nuts, but I’ve been in a cooking mood this weekend...
I would like something sweet.
....And I’ll see you tomorrow...few more chapters to read in my latest book:The Last Empty Spaces. It’s not bad in parts, but the author’s over-romanticizing of the wilderness and its earliest inhabitants is a bit much....
How ObamaCare May Disrupt Your Health Plan
Imagine if you ran a business, and one day the government told you that you would be fined if you: (1) minimized unnecessary expenses; (2) hired workers to specialize in customer service; (3) invested resources in order to ensure you wouldnt get victimized by fraud. What would you do? Think quickly: because three months from now, this very system will be the law of the land for our nations health insurers.
Looks like the Dems have only few safe Senate seats - Leaky Leahy, Milkulsky, and Inouye plus give them Oregon and Deleware and CA and we still have an outside shot. CT has gone toss up, and CO likely GOP. Need Nevada however, and PA always dissappoints - probably both suffer from voter fraud
Good article on the Tea Party:
Good morning!
Yes! That would be great. Thanks.
Good article. Thanks for the link.
Good Morning!
The town in the picture makes me think of small Texas towns, for some reason.
Im like the squirrels gathering nuts
I have never seen so many squirrels. They are everywhere searching for their winter stash. I hope that doesn't predict the weather.
There is a lot of squirrel and chipmunk activity in our yard, too. Are they searching for their stash or creating their stash?
I’m sure it is the weather because I have been feeling the same way.
My dishes have been flops of late tho.
Good morning.
Good morning. Probably both.
But Tea Partiers are also taking over the GOP from the bottom up, running for precinct chairs and state committee seats.
In other words listen to us!
That's a mighty tasty breakfast for today's chilly morning, lysie! Thanks. (Toby would need some hot buttered grits too. LOL)
MKH...your interest in Nevil Shute's novels prompted me to investigate whether my library had any of his lesser known works. It didn't, so I requested an inner-library loan search for several, and got one of my 3 requestes last week: Requiem for a Wren.
I enjoyed it so much that it is another one I would recommend that you read.
Heard a little of Byron York on Bennett's show...the Rs must quickly distinguish themselves from the Dems when they recover the House at least, & in all likelihood make significant gains in the Senate.
Early on the House could easily pass a bill to end 0Care. It would be a symbolic, but important statement. Then it could start chipping away at the details of funding.
You betcha: we'll be watching!
Good morning.
Loneliest man in DC NY Post
No kidding!!!! GRRRRRRRRR
For all his bluster, JG is certainly not managing up my standards...and the players are all there acting like it is just another day at the ball field.....I’d say more but heavy censoring would be required.
Yes! I think that book also goes by the name “The Breaking Wave”. Was it about the RAF pilot who has lost his feet in a war accident and then goes back home to Australia?
I enjoyed that one very much.
Oh, I agree. It’s as if they all don’t give a hoot.
I would like a jet pack.
They do look like fun.
That looks like some town we’ve driven through, very early in the morning.
Yes, that is the one I read. One of the reasons for Shute’s various titles for it is that he completely rewrote it about 3 times.
It is some small town in the “western” part of our country. It may be mid-west as opposed to west of the Mississippi. At any rate, sunrises are special.
Thanks for the reminder. I need to head to the library today. Return a book. Get a book.
Morning! Am I late to the party?
Step-mother much better; she’s even smiling. Is this the result of operation to clean out bedsore or the lull before the storm?
Completely skipped the news this week-end. How refreshing! Fishing in De was great for the guys but Mr HOB had to eat so they stopped early. It was really cold!
Last post for you too
I just saw another Andy Griffith commercial. He must think we’re as senile as he is.
What in the world is his motivation in making those commercials? Does he really need the money that badly?
Good morning,
Jem. I LOVE your outfit and hat. Hats are the happy birthday on the cake for me.
Mr HOB gets so upset when they come on TV. He can’t stand to watch the old fool.
I remember hearing Andy and the actress who played Aunt Bea didn’t get along. I wonder why?
Good morning. Prayers continue.
Thanks Sweetie; and for Sarah too. I get angry when I think of her supervisor. Fool!
Thank you.
AMEN! AMEN! AMEN!
Glad things are looking better!
Skipping the news sounds very therapeutic.
I can’t stand the smug smile he has at the end of these commercials.
It was....
I find myself getting depressed and anxious at the same time. Is that possible?
The left side of his face looks like he’s suffered a mild stroke.
Thanks. I think I’m going to begin putting together hats for all of my dressy outfits. It is not unusual to see ladies wear hats in church in some denominations down here, but it isn’t usual in my denomination. I think I may just do my part to change that.
Thank you very much for your compliments.
She was a very good actress. It never came across like that on the screen.
