Survivor: Nicaragua

Posted on 09/15/2010 2:53:14 PM PDT by EveningStar

I will be handling this thread on a temporary basis only, and as time and health permits. You people are used to - and deserve - more. Hopefully, someone more qualified will step up and take this over. :)

Wikipedia article

Survivor: Nicaragua is the 21st season of Survivor. It will moving to Wednesday nights this season. In fact, it begins tonight, September 15, 2010, 8/7c.

The theme this season will be Young vs Old. The players will include a former NFL coach (Jimmy Johnson) and an amputee triathlete champion (Kelly Bruno).

From Wikipedia:
Survivor host Jeff Probst, has also announced that the Hidden Immunity Idol will continue to be used in the game. However, as idols have been found too easily the past two seasons (most often by Russell Hantz), or as the show's producers have dubbed it, "The Russell Factor", the idol will be hidden differently. The clues to the idols' locations will be visual rather than written as in past seasons. In addition, the tribes will be vying for control of a new item, the Medallion of Power, that, when used, gives an advantage in a challenge, but is then transferred to the other tribe.

Let's meet the players.

Here are photos of the players.

Listed below are links to player profiles. They include a video clip of the player, which is, unfortunately preceded by a short - but annoying - ad.

I watched the first show of it this year, I’m done with survivor, too much gay stuff on it now

I guess you don't wish to be added to the ping list? :)

It looks like the Russell Hantz type shoe stealer on Espada is Holly. Also apparently flipping out (at least, according to the previews) is NaOnka on La Flor.

I missed the first episode...but I sure can’t figure out why someone would bring a $1600 pair of shoes to a Survivor island.

I sure am glad I’m too old for the children’s so-called team.

Well, you know, with all those fabulous rewards trips, you really do need a good pair of alligator loafers...

It is nice to see strategy in not going after the easy mark, but geeze, toss out one of your strongest members in the first council? Jeff had to have been watching that and just shaking his head. With both tribes, he’s gotta be looking at the production staff and going: You’re putting extra security on stage for me when we do the live finale, as I’m not sitting next to these wackos and getting killed on live tv...

Man-0-Man; that young team will be something to keep an one on.

And Holly on the Old Team? Something else will set her off.

I was thinking the same thing. Wouldn’t a much cheaper, more comfortable pair of tennis shoes been a more logical choice?

I’ve renamed her A-Noya. Girl’s not going to last long with an attitude like that. The minority alliance can kiss it goodbye if they’re counting on her being around long.

Holly’s days are numbered. Whether she quits or is voted off ... they’re numbered.

A-Noya is a goner. She would have been if that idiot didn’t open his trap.

I haven't watched every season of Survivor and frequently miss episodes..but for the ones of I have seen..that was one of the most interesting tribal councils... as for the survivors..there are some real whack jobs....
Imagine what he thought when crazy Holly put her hands on his knees
