How would a man from another country filling out paperwork at a hospital while his son is being born, know about US protocol for racial classification? From his perspective, if he were from Kenya, it could be that their way of classifying these things would be native Africans versus European. So filling out African would make sense. What needs to be found is not what others in Hawaii filled out as race, but from the perspective of the Father, what someone from Africa would list in that circumstance.

In 1961 "African" was not a race standard per the practices that has been shown before on FR. I would expect that those standards were adhered to by the state of Hawaii who should have corrected Obama Sr. However, it is highly unlikely that a long form Hawaiian birth certificate exists for Obama.
