There is a subtle leftwing bias even in this anti-Stalin docu-clip. It compares Stalin’s tyranny to Ivan the Terrible and even Peter the Great and claims that BOTH those men eliminated half of Russia’s population. The claim is simply wrong. One should read Massey’s PETER THE GREAT (one of Ronald Reagan’s favorite books).
By blaming the “cult of personality” and earlier Russian precedents the History Channel gets socialism off the hook.

It was very good.
Didn’t he also write Nicholas and Alexandra?
I read that one about 20 years ago.
I believe Russia could have been great if the Bolsheviks didn’t FUBAR everything.
