Sherwin Van Truggs
Consider the story of Sherwin Van Truggs
He spent days in the garden, observing the bugs
Their delicate feelers, the sheen of their wings
Their slick carapaces, he loved all these things
While most children vied with each other in sports
Or played tag, or Red Rover, and games of all sorts
Little Sherwin was happier out on his own
Watching dermestid beetles strip flesh from fox bones
And as Sherwin grew up, this, for him, did not change
He still loved creepy-crawlies; folks still found him strange
So he never made friends, and so nobody cried
When old Sherwin ultimately sort of died
But the shambling corpse-thing that Sherwin became
Was happy (if thats the right word) all the same
Cause for job satisfaction, he just could not beat
Feeding maggots and blowflies his own rancid meat

Went to dinner with my folks tonight.
I was bemused by the waiter’s name tag, it said his name is Æerön.
Yep. His name was trademarked.
What can I say? I’m easily amused...

Nully, just used my latest, albeit abbreviated or edited ping list on this post.
Many of the names on the ping list you used have either been banned for life :( moved on to other forums or sadly some have passed on from this life :(
In recent years I've tried to resusitate the thread, awaken some of the old energy. And, it mostly worked, for a while.
In the summer we're all busy and when we have time to log on it just isn't very enjoyable to have to work so hard trying to recapture the old playful rhythm we all loved.
Most of our original wits and resident mischief makers rarely ever put in an appearance on FR now. As far as I know, garn doesn't play online at all now, she does FB or twitter, etc. Swervy was banned long ago, ditto for 38sw. Ratty stays busy elsewhere, sharky spends his FR time on the Palin threads. catpuppy stays busy and seldoms lights in one place for long. Celtic gal occasionally stops by but devotes a lot of time to caring for hubby and her Marine charities. Sweetliberty seems to be working around the clock these days. Mo spends her time on another forum now.
In the absence of so many of our quick-witted, core FReeoples and infrequent visits by our remaining crew it just requires a lot of effort to keep the lighthearted spirit we all enjoyed for so long. Newbies and recuits have come and gone but most were not able to go with the flow for long or they lost interest.
Nully, you do an admirable job picking up the slack for Mo when she used to post those hilarious jokes and relating equally hilarious tales on the joys of motherhood. :)
For the next couple of months I'll stop by FR at various times of the day. Instead of just reading forum headlines I'll make a point of posting sumpin here on our thread :) Hopefully, more of our BFF FReeoples :) will find time to do the same.

Third shift is a pain, and I’m going through the process of becoming a corrections officer, so my posting has been.. er.. “Lost Post”.
I do my best, but even my feared typo skills cannot help.
But we can at least swing by and check in.
