saveliberty update:

Got an e-mail from savelibery saying things are progressing “on schedule”. The walker is gathering dust and the cane is history. [Maybe S/L should “raise a little cain”?!]

Her eyes are improving but still give her headaches if she reads too much. [No “Oprah”, S/L.]

The food allergies are still largely unresolved but they must be getting better as saveliberty mentioned some “...chocolate covered strawberries” that she was given and didn't want to go to waste. [Yeah, right. The phrase is go to “waist”! At least, for the rest of us.]

She closed her note with a message to all:

“Thank you once again for your support and good wishes!

Cheers,

(saveliberty)

Hello everyone!

It has been about one month since the first surgery and I am doing better each day.

I started outpatient physical therapy last week and learned that while I am far less steady on my feet that I’d thought, I am doing very well considering where I’ve been. Physical therapy is working out well already as the therapist specializes in neurological and vestibular issues. She has been suggesting exercises to address both the surgery and the hemorrhage, which is great.

I am allowed to go on the treadmill again, but when I do so at home, I need to hold onto the railings. In therapy, I will be allowed to walk without holding onto anything. Today, I walked on our treadmill at home for 40 minutes unassisted.

Some of the facial muscles are coming back. I can close my right eye and use some of my muscles, although I still need to hold up my right side to smile.

Food issues are on the way to being resolved — Hooray! Pudding and pizza are still beyond what I can handle, but I can have some dairy and flour, and the proteins have expanded to allow for beef and pork (including bacon - Yay!). And of course, I’ve already started to work on a Cadbury Fruit and Nut bar. LOL

Thank you for your good thoughts, prayers, friendship and support!

Cheers,

save
