God works in mysterious ways sometimes. I am so glad and I hope it just keeps running for you...can’t wait to hear from you tomorrow. I think its going to work all night! Maybe it was just over-worked during all this hot weather!

Sing A New Song
Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth; break forth in song, rejoice, and sing praises. —Psalm 98:4

At age 94, Pastor Willis was admitted into a care facility. From his wheelchair, he shared with joy how God had given him a new mission field to share the gospel. When he was bedridden a few years later, he spoke with enthusiasm of being in the best possible position to look up to God. When he died at age 100, Pastor Willis left behind a legacy of one who sang a new song of praise at every turn of his earthly life.

Psalm 98 exhorts us to sing a new song for God who “has done marvelous things; His right hand and His holy arm have gained Him the victory” (v.1). We ought to praise Him —even in times of difficulty—for God remembers “His mercy and His faithfulness” (v.3). Though this psalm is about God freeing the Israelites from slavery, it is prophetically also about our salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord. And as we remember what God has done for us, we can trust Him to help us with today’s difficulties as well as tomorrow’s uncertainties.

The psalmist wrote: “Let the sea roar, and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell in it; . . . let the hills be joyful together before the Lord” (vv.7-9). Let us join God’s creation in singing praise to our Savior!

I don’t know about tomorrow,
Nor what coming days will bring;
But I know my Lord is with me,
And His praise my heart will sing. —Fitzhugh

A heart in tune with God sings melodies of praise.

Such a sweet message this morning, Mr. Mayor! I must tell you this little story. We have a mentally challenged man in our church. One of our wonderful Christian men picks him up every Sunday and brings him to church and takes him to his seat. He sits in the same place Sunday after Sunday. (3rd aisle from the front).

The gentleman goes back and sits with his wife. Harry, the mentally challenged man doesn't know the words to the songs but he sings along to all of them with a very loud voice. No, he doesn't disturb us at all. The Bible says "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord" and Harry does that better than anyone." (I knew you would enjoy this little story).

Have a wonderful Monday!

Any news coverage of it?

The fire has now spread to over 650 acres. Another 450 firefighters are arriving today.

The smoke is very bad, and I may have to evacuate, for a few days.

It is now being covered on National News stations, and has been named the Taylor Fire.

She's faced the hardest times you could imagine
And many times her eyes fought back the tears
And when her youthful world was about to fall in
Each time her slender shoulders
Bore the weight of all her fears
And a sorrow no one hears
Still rings in midnight silence in her ears

Let her cry, for she's a lady
Let her dream, for she's a child
Let the rain fall down upon her
She's a free and gentle flower growing wild

And if by chance I should hold her
Let me hold her for the time
But if allowed just one possession
I would pick her from the garden to be mine

Be careful how you touch her, for she'll awaken
And sleep's the only freedom that she knows
And when you walk into her eyes you won't believe
The way she's always paying
For a debt she never owes
And a silent wind still blows
That only she can hear and so she goes

Let her cry, for she's a lady
Let her dream, for she's a child
Let the rain fall down upon her
She's a free and gentle flower growing wild

She's a flower growing wild ....

Thank you for the sweet goodnight.
Oh, yorkie...I would rather be hot with no A/C than smoky..
I had to turn off the A/C by 11pm..noise alerted me..and it will not turn on today. The A/C people say they will be here this morning...Here’s hoping!

I’ll be checking in to see how you are, yorkie

Happy Monday Everyone..I hope I am busy with A/C repair people very soon.

I am sorry, yorkie - I see this post just now, and knew nothing about the fire in your area - am going back a couple of days and see what I've missed.

Seems I can't tear myself away from Fox News every morning, and all they've been talking about is the town hall meetings on health care reform. Meghyn Kelly is relentless! She cuts the dims absolutely NO slack, not that they deserve any - talk about the hot seat!

Will get back to 'today' after I browse the weekend posts.
